Aloha!! I was tempted to try Island Bree 'z in light of all the suggestions on the RSM Facebook page. (Side note: if you want good laughs, please add yourself to the group, free comedy). Anyways, some residents had posted their pics from the visit to Island Bree 'z and the food looked very enticing! The place is up and coming. It replaces the old Akropolis restaurant, and they haven 't completely cleared out all the old decor. Upon arrival I was greeted so warmly by Chef Marcus and his warm Island spirit. He took our orders and went quickly to work...yes that 's right, he cooked everything FRESH! I ordered the North Shore Shrimp Tacos, Beef Plate, and Garlic fries! The food took a little bit...
I really want to like this place but I just don't think they're ready for prime time. I went in for lunch there was a young man at the register who seemed very green and lost. The restaurant was dark, cold and not very clean. No soda machine. I ordered the lemon shrimp which was pretty good but served in a styrofoam container and drenched with sauce. The salad it came with was not very edible like straight out of a prepackaged bag. I will give them another chance but they really need to step up their game. CLOSED! What on earth? After all the rave reviews, this place has closed its doors just a month after opening! There's a sign indicating it's now Flip Flop Burgers, set to open on March 9. Is it the same owner? It seems likely, as the new burger menu (averaging around $12) features several items identical to the previous one. Is it really a poke at a burger joint? In just about six weeks, it has gone from Akropolis to Island Breez to Flip Flop Burgers. Could it be an owner who doesn't have a good grasp of restaurant management? Or perhaps they just got bored with the menu? It's certainly puzzling... Not to mention, there was a Flip Flop Burgers that recently shut down in Mission Viejo.
This little gem just moved from the North Shore to our community in Robinson Ranch, California. Don't miss this!!! What a treat to have authentic Hawaiian food right in our neighborhood! The owner is super nice and really aims to please. The Coconut Shrimp is to die for and the Teriyaki is amazing! Next I'm trying the Garlic Shrimp. Someone next to me was eating a lobster dish and said they thought they had died and gone to heaven! Réservez une table maintenant
This...is...legit Hawaiian food! Because the place is new, I wanted to just try the basics. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and beef teriyaki and was not disappointed. I 'm so happy that something different has come to RSM!!! It 's a bit pricey, but the food is quality. It 's no more expensive than eating at all the other RSM non fast food places like Luna Grill, Pizza Press, Sajj, etc.
This restaurant is not nearly as good as Akropolis, which was here before. The owners made a poor decision by switching to this overpriced, subpar island-themed restaurant. I had high hopes for the Loco Moco, but compared to other local places that serve it, I was very disappointed. I probably won't be returning.
