Omg, this place is absolutely delicious. We got a bench outside. It was beautiful day to do just that. My friend ordered the French toast, which looked and tasted absolutely amazing. I ordered the avocado toast. Very flavorful without it being salty. Got a Power Twist juice. I also ordered a scallion cheddar scone. I wish this would've been warmed up a little. Downside, is that it doesn't have servers who take your order. The tables outside are benches, so you're sitting with other people, which is not necessarily my jam. The food at Jackie And Son was fabulous! I loved being able to build my own omelet exactly how I wanted—it was delicious and easy to customize. The toast was excellent, and the smoothie was outstanding as well. If only the customer service could improve when it comes to greeting guests and guiding them on where to sit, whether outside or inside, it would make the experience even better. Having clear directions on seating and how to order from the menu would save customers from searching for assistance. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend Jackie And Son to my family, friends, and coworkers. As a proud South Orange resident, I will always support our town’s local businesses. Thank you!
I eat here at least twice a week and always bring my friends along whenever possible. The food is a bit pricey, but considering its exceptional quality and uniqueness, it's absolutely worth it. The atmosphere is charming, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I don't think there's anywhere else within 15 miles of South Orange that compares. My top picks are the Beef Scramble and the Beet Cleanse juice. Their scones are absolutely remarkable. I haven't tried anything that I didn't enjoy completely. Treat yourself to this restaurant—you won't regret it!
I had lunch at this restaurant a few days ago, and it was fantastic. The chicken shawarma on pita was flavorful, featuring tender chicken, fresh vegetables, and a delightful dressing on the side. I also enjoyed a delicious raspberry-lemon scone, which was more cake-like than a traditional scone, but I mean that in a good way, and it was quite large as well. You order at the register, grab a seat, and take a numbered post for the server to bring your food. While there's outdoor seating available, I opted to sit indoors.

Jackie And Son is a beautifully designed breakfast and brunch spot with plenty of seating by the windows and outdoors, offering excellent natural light on pleasant days. The food is delicious—if you’re unsure what to order, the French toast is a great choice. Be sure to try something from their baked goods; the blueberry scone was exceptional. The smoothies were also very tasty. To top it all off, the customer service was excellent, with friendly and welcoming staff. I’ll definitely be returning in the future.
I got stuck at Newark Airport for about 18 hours, and I’m so happy I ventured out to find some good food! Jackie And Son is a real hidden gem, with wonderful staff providing outstanding service. I had some of the best pancakes I’ve had in a while, and all the baked goods looked incredible—I can’t believe I didn’t grab some to take with me. Definitely a spot worth visiting for delicious food and great coffee!
This was the first time here. The restaurant was very friendly. It felt like a neighborhood meetup area. Atmosphere was great. My meal was great and the portion was healthy!!!
