We had reservations for a Saturday night, but it turned out there was plenty of room even without them. No one seemed ready to seat us at first, but once we were settled, everything went smoothly. Our server was helpful and efficient, and the prices for food and wine were very reasonable. The menu had a lot of choices, catering to everyone, even picky eaters. I ordered the chicken souvlaki and was impressed. My husband liked his liver and onions, but wasn't a fan of the potatoes. Our friends enjoyed their lasagna and chicken cacciatore. Ate dinner here February 22nd and it was excellent as usual. Large menu that surprises me that the chef can keep up with. Weekend specials included the normal prime rib, stuffed chicken, salmon, lamb shank and a pasta or two. I ordered the special lamb shank and it was to die for sooo tender and a large portion with potato and vegetables. My partner had the 4 cheese ravioli with chicken and shrimp sauce and we brought home about half since there was at least 10 shrimps and near as many pieces of chicken breast in a rich tomato/cheese sauce excellent. My last review of this place was not very positive, but my mind has been changed. 2 visits in 2 weeks. Once for lunch, had a great butter chicken dish, nicely seasoned, hot and fresh. Then we came back with a bigger group for Sunday brunch and had a great brunch! Everything seemed cooked in small batches so was fresh and hot. The eggs benedict were really good, loads of fresh fruit, nice roasted chicken pieces. Not a ton of variety but everyone was happy with what there was. A hot vegetable would have been a nice addition-the salad was a little limp but we just ate more fruit instead. Service was good, $4 caesars were spicy and cold, definitely has improved a lot in just over a year.
Jacx offers a wide selection items on their menu with daily specials. We go quite often and have never been disappointed. The portions are large and the Chef will make little adjustments to make your meal perfect for you. The dessert menu is impressive as well with several choices of homemade cheesecake. The staff are pleasant and the service is good. There is live music on the weekend which makes for an enjoyable evening.
Kudos to the greeter/server at this restaurant last evening. Our first visit: So grateful for no hi guys like you were in McDonalds but a pleasant smile and hello. Wide selection of dishes: we had fusilli rustico and a burger. Reviews on the burger were excellent....same with the pasta. I will be enjoying the other half of the pasta dish for lunch today. Pricing is reasonable and service excellent. Highly recommend.
