I mean just look at the picture...do you see a nicely sliced breast of duck? No, nor do I! I see ragged little bits of duck...again : Anyway, since everywhere seems to think this is how duck should be hacked about, I will concentrate on the positives and make a mental note to stop ordering duck). I attempted to order salt and pepper chicken, salt and pepper chips, and chips with curry sauce at this restaurant. However, I was told that it was impossible to have salt and pepper chips because it costs more money to cook. Despite offering to pay extra, the owner gave me a look as if I were foolish. I decided to go to a nearby restaurant called eighty 8 where I was able to order exactly what I wanted without any issues. I was disappointed by the attitude of the owner at the previous restaurant and do not plan on returning as it seems they are overly concerned with money.
I have finally found an amazing Chinese takeout in Whitley! The portions are large (we were amazed by the amount of ribs we got as an appetizer), the sauces are delicious, and the food was hot when we picked it up. I absolutely loved the duck and the Szechuan chicken was also very tasty, although it could use a bit more spice. We will definitely be coming back, most likely very soon.
The customer service over the phone was unpleasant. The order was missing curry sauce and the food was tasteless - the chicken, rice, and prawn crackers were all disappointing. The addition of pineapple in the lemon chicken dish was odd. I do not plan on returning to this restaurant.

Bairly cooked soft squigy chicken in the chow mein. Bland curry sauce. Prices way to expensive, wait time after going to collect the meals was 40 minutes. The food use to be good but I feel the standards have slipped. I will never buy from there again
Ordered a few time from the Jade Lagoon and the food is delicious and staff are very helpful i dont like fresh peppers and the were happy to leave them out and also to make one of the meals not as hot. Good prices and great prawn crackers. Thanks
Jade lagoon is thr best chinkys in whitley bay. I have no idea why they are 2nd place on here. They should be 1st place easy. No way chengs who i have never heard of should be 1st place. 6 stars out of 5 if i could.
Fantastic food. Friendly owner who also helped us by recommending places to visit while in whitley. Definitely recommend

Very overpriced for Burnt duck, 2 bits of prawn in the house special which was filled with ham average portions.
Best Chinese I have ever had without a doubt definitely would recommend and will only be going here from now on!
