One word, excellent. Service, food, atomosphere. Excellent. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming. Our server Craig was super helpful with suggestions on sushi and sake. Plum sake was a delicious aperitif. Try the White Lightening. TRUST ME you will not be disappointed. It's #1 for a reason. It literally melts in your mouth. The butter sauce is so delicious. The ramen is definitely some of the best I've had a while. Outdoor seating is available. Not too long of a wait. Would highly recommend this place. If you're in the Redondo area, check this place out.
This was the first time I've eaten at Japonica and it's a keeper. We arrived at the tail end of happy hour and took advantage of the hot sake, chicken goyza, shrimp crunch roll and spicey tuna roll. On the regular menu we had the soft shelled crab and blue fin tuna sushi. It was all delicious. I left full and happy.
I had a great experience at happy hour while strolling to the beach to watch the sunset. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of items on the menu, and I ended up feeling quite full. I sat at an outdoor table, and the service was quick and friendly.
I prefer the Hermosa Beach location, but this one is usually less crowded and offers easier parking. The rolls here are excellent—unique and made with high-quality ingredients. The service is good as well. Food: 5/5.

It was our first time there. Our server, Stephanie, gave us excellent advice. We had six different items and loved them all. The carpaccio and rolls were all creative and delicious! We’ll be back.
“Mild” ramen was very spicy but waiter was very understanding and replaced it with a sushi dish. Everything else was quite tasty.
Excellent service! Very intimate. Food was outstanding. We will definitely be back for more. Great bang for your buck as well.
