To get there from the main Sherbrooke Street entrance, go to the elevators and go down to level C. There's a hidden food court close by, it's there.Very fast and friendly Japanese style service, cash only. Prices are rounded up to the dollar or 50 cents.Good selection food, but in a nutshell it's rice with curry, or some kind of fried meat.Absolutely fantastic value, a large serving of curry, fried chicken cutlet on rice with miso soup was 13$ taxes and tip in. You can add sauces, pickles and ginger to your taste.Maybe not the healthiest option, but budget wise it's great. And I enjoyed the taste!

I was overwhelmed with profound sadness when I discovered Haru Hana has permanently closed my favourite Katsudon place.I was now in search for a tasty Katsudon.Enter Japote!Hidden in the underground food court of a scotiabank building on Floor C in the basement of Centre Mont Royal. It was Cash Only there is an ATM upstairs in the bank.My Katsudon was Delicious will be back for more.Since it is in a food court get it to go and cross the street and relax in the beauty of the McGill Campus looking upon the mountain.

Quick and good service. Portions are smaller than what you would normally get (a large don would be maybe 400g of food), but they are equally as cheap, so you can simply order two dishes to make up for their size, and it'll come back to the same price as a good old Asian take out. I had the tori-don, and I'd gladly recommend it! Food was delicious! However, they only take cash (prices are calculated so that they're round numbers after taxes, so no need to worry about having to store any extra change later).

Food is delicious and cheap.Real japanese people work there.Super nice people. There are always lots of tables open so even loners like me can go there comfortably without suffering from social anxiety ?But maybe not the healthiest stuff to consume.note: you can only pay with cashand the place is kind of hard to find

Montreal has a lot of hidden gem spots, but this is my favourite. Simple, cheap, and AUTHENTIC Japanese food. The quality you get for the price you pay is simply unheard of nowadays. A great spot to stop for a quick lunch if you are in the area. Wish it was open in the evening though.

Literally a hidden gem in downtown! Very cheap and delicious food. I always come here when I crave for some asian comfort food. It is always busy during lunchtime but the staff is always smiley and friendly.

Charming spot for warm and cheap lunch. Amazing and nostalgic flavors. Closes early so get your food before too late!Edit: They only take physical cash, make sure to grab a 20$ at an ATM nearby

Small portion. Food feels homemade. Good for the price. We received free cookie for Christmas.
