We had a very late lunch, so the restaurant was quite empty. Despite that, the server seemed rushed. Our group was mostly satisfied with the food, but my fries were forgotten, and when they finally arrived, they were undercooked and excessively greasy. Thankfully, they were taken off the bill, but it should have been avoided in the first place—at least two staff members could have prevented them from being served, even though we were late. Overall, it was an acceptable experience, but it didn't live up to the quality of my previous annual visits.
Loved the feel of this bar/restaurant. Service was great, and the food was a treat. Prices are very reasonable, and the service was incredible in a positive way, thanks to Cara. She is very efficient in her job. We had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes (real potatoes and not a dried product). Also we had the turkey open faced hot sandwich, also good. Prices of the food are really for this time. Plan to come back soon.
I'm not sure what has changed. It used to be a fantastic place with great food, excellent service, and a lively atmosphere. During my recent visit, the lights were dim, there was no background music, and the bartender appeared very frustrated to even be there. I'm not trying to criticize; I'm just feeling disappointed and surprised by this experience.
The food was excellent, and the portion sizes were generous. Our server was very helpful and friendly. The highlight of our late lunch was that we enjoyed two drinks, sautéed mussels, potato skins, two cups of soup, and an order of fish and chips—all for just $41.00, which is incredibly affordable. Our waitress Amy expertly handled a party of 20+ ppl all by herself. She remained professional throughout her entire time serving us. I greatly appreciate how apologetic she was for mishaps that were out of her control. Her work ethic is otherworldly! She ensured a lovely dining experience that’s leading me to come back soon!
