I recently had lunch at this restaurant and I must say it was a fantastic experience. The price per person ranged from $20 to $30, which I felt was fair for the quality of the food and service. Speaking of the food, I would give it a solid 5 out of 5 – everything was delicious and presented beautifully. The service was equally top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff making sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also great, with a cozy and inviting ambiance that made for a pleasant dining experience. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant for a delicious and enjoyable meal.
While in Iowa, I stayed in a hotel nearby and asked the receptionist for a good place to eat. She recommended Jethros BBQ and I am so happy I listened to her! The staff at Jethros were friendly and welcoming. My server, a male whose name I didn't catch, was excellent. He gave me his personal recommendations and I tried the BBQ French Fries, which were amazing. I wish Jethros would open a location in my city so I could enjoy their food and great service more often. Every employee at the restaurant seemed happy to be there. Also, I'm not sure why my photo appears on the receipt, but it gave me a good laugh.
The food was absolutely awful!! The cheese quesadilla had only tortilla and cheese. There was no salad, no salsa, no sour cream. When I asked the waitress, she said they usually come with meat. It felt like I was being punished for ordering without meat. Who just eats cheese?! The quesadillas were soggy, barely had any cheese, and nothing else. They gave me less than what I paid for and charged me the full price. Next time, I'll go to a Mexican restaurant that knows how to properly feed people. I left this excuse for food on the table. Places like this should go out of business.
The meal at Altoona Jethros is usually good. This was my first time dining there and I found that the meat and macaroni and cheese were served cold. The shell noodles were also a bit undercooked. They did bring more sliced brisket, but it wasn't much hotter. Otherwise, it would have been a 5-star experience. I went back again and the food was much better, hot, so I am adding a star for that. The sides were also good. Overall, I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere a 4 out of 5. Réservez une table maintenant
I have visited the original Jethro's several times, and this was my first visit to this location. It was just as good. Their burnt ends are excellent. I had forgotten how delicious their applesauce is and regretted not ordering it. The beans were just average, but the potato salad was pretty good. Our waitress was very attentive. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all a 5 out of 5.
I absolutely adored this restaurant. The food was fantastic and the portions were very generous. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. It exceeded all the great things I had heard about it before I arrived. Even though I was just passing through on my way to Omaha, I would definitely make it a point to come back here every week if I lived in the area.
Went in and ordered food and drinks to go at the bar, and the guy bartending acted like it was a chore to help me. Great food but the service sucked.
