We arrived for my partner 's birthday (already had a reservation). A young male waiter came to our table and he was immediately ushered away from our table by a more 'seasoned ' female server. I thought this meant we were going to get special treatment but ...No! I unfortunately do not speak or read French so my partner and his mother were tryng to interrpeut the menu for me but we were given NO time! (My partner was also told not to ‘fold’ the menu ove so we could review)! I was looking at the wine list to start with as an appetitif but felt rushed to pick one too. I felt hassled to deciede on my choices to the point of when she asked me to decide on my dessert I asked the waiter to choose! (Didn’t want to enagage with her any further as she had bad energy)!! I ended up with the cheese plate which was not great... The food was also just OK. We can cook a better meal at home! Will NEVER go back and would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Thanks for making a special Birthday celebration a terrible one! (She also knew how we felt that evening with no apology)!?!
Ok, it’s true we eat here fairly often so maybe I am slightly biased ! However we have NEVER been disappointed which is rare. From the moment you are welcomed by a smiling member of the front of house wether it’s a waiter or the owner herself you know you will be well looked after. The food is sublime! Try the Foie gras which is always fantastic. We had a classic dish as a main course, Tournedos Rossini. Wow! It was faultless. Desserts are to die for too. It’s not a cheap restaurant but however much you spend you leave happy and with the feeling it was well worth the money!
The restaurant has a chic and cosy atmosphere, the staff are so very welcoming and the food is exquisite! I ordered crayfish which was on the menu that night and it was out of this world! Being an island girl myself I truly appreciated it. My husband also enjoyed every mouthful of his salmon dish. Five stars all the way!
Excellent service but the food was pretentious, as well as consisting of many ingredients that did no marry with each other, e.g marinated monkfish with mandarin segments, as well as an over sweet sorbet of indeterminate origin and quail with very sharp pickled radish. None of the fusion combinations worked together.
