Good service and nice ambience, but not exactly French cuisine. The meal started off well. The salads were well done, especially the Roquefort, walnut, and pear. The pinot noir sorbet was a bit sweet for a palate cleanser. The real issue was with the Short Ribs Bourguignon. They are described in the menu as being served with a red wine demi-glace and horseradish whipped potatoes. No mention is made of the BBQ sauce on top. A well executed red wine demi-glace would have been great, so they should have either stuck with the classic treatment or mentioned the BBQ sauce on the menu. To be fair, the waiter was great. This restaurant appeared incredibly charming from the outside, which has made it a long-standing item on our “to try” list. We finally visited on a Thursday night, and everything was just perfect. The atmosphere was peaceful, with only 3-4 tables occupied. We ordered the escargot, trout, and duck, and we even received a complimentary crème brûlée for dessert thanks to my husband’s NU wildcard discount. Each dish was delicious and enjoyable from start to finish. The prices for what we ordered were reasonable, though some of the specialty items did seem a bit on the pricey side. Overall, we had a wonderful evening and will definitely return.
The restaurant is quite small. We went with a group of seven, and it felt overcrowded and uncomfortable at our table. There was an unpleasant smell of burnt toast in the air. With only one server on duty, we were left waiting; we asked for coffee immediately, but it only arrived after our food was served. It took about 15 minutes for the server to come take our order. While the food was good, the atmosphere and service left much to be desired, and we will not be returning.
This is the new twin of Jilly’sCafe with an almost identical menu. It has outdoor seating which is nice and a nice interior decor. The salad was ok and the sorbet between courses was delightful, But the duck was dry and overcooked. Service ok, it surprisingly they gave us the bill without even asking if we wanted dessert or coffee. All in all, the café is still preferable to the new bistro (which doesn’t accept the WBEZ membership dining card) and thus is costlier.

We went to Jilly's Bistro when they opened and couldn't wait to come back. The food and wine were all wonderful, it was a shame that people don't know about this neighborhood gem, as the restaurant had very few customers. Please get the word out and try Jilly's Bistro, you won't be disappointed
Wonderful food, delicious coffee, great service. The food was fresh and plentiful. It reminded me of a time where dining was peaceful and enjoyable. I pretended I was dining near the Seine river. You must go and enjoy it.
The service was outstanding, and the food was incredible! Ali was exceptional; he attended to every table promptly and with a wonderful personality. This restaurant is definitely a must-visit!
It's a wonderful place for lunch. Lunch specialities - great value and delicious. The owner even gave us a free dessert to share. Will definitely return and highly recommend.

we were surprised that they have no full cash, and they were from the wee we ordered, and replaced another, but without reducing the price.
Stop before I wanted to hear music and it was lovely. The food was very good as the owner and the staff. Recommend it very warmly!
