Don 't normally write reviews for restaurants but my experience today was strange enough to warrant it. We came in approx. 1:45pm today. We were promptly seated. Our server took a while to come to our table. We had enough time to look over the menu and decide what we wanted to eat. Food was good but took a while to get. When we were done, I asked if he could break a $100 bill to pay. Some places won 't take a $100, the reason I asked first. He proceeds to give me change out of his pocket for the entire $100 bill when my intent was to pay the tab with the $100. So he leaves and never comes back. Sat waiting to pay my bill for 15-20 minutes. Tab was $51 and some change, was paying with 3 $20 b...
During my trip from Virginia, I took a detour to visit family across several states. Hungry and craving southern flavors, especially barbecue, I asked my older brother in Montgomery, Alabama, for a recommendation. He suggested a place where the barbecue was so delicious it could almost inspire unusual gestures. The brisket was incredibly tasty, and the ribs were a delightful surprise. Although the catfish was lightly fried, it was packed with flavor; I’ll definitely be asking for a crispier fry next time. The ribs and sides were very good and the establishment looked very nice,clean and pleasant. Our server was nice and pleasant but not attentive enough to her tables. We had to ask her for too many things that would have made our visit more enjoyable. I'll just attribute it to her being new. The other issue of concern was the brisket soup. The flavor was alright but the texture was way off. The brisket itself was nothing but the ends of fat. Not a single piece of center cut meat. I simply didn't eat it because it wasn't what I expected. I've had brisket soup before and this didn't even come close to what I'm used to. I'm not totally dissatisfied, so I'm willing to give this establishment anot...
The service and food at Jim n Nick's have worsened over the years but today was horrible. If I could, I would rate my visit a zero. I can't believe the burnt meat and nasty potato salad I received today came from a restaurant that I once loved so much. The owner needs to pay an anonymous visit to the location. The wait was at least 25 to 30 minutes in the Drive-Thru. It took me 20 minutes holding on phone to actually get someone to pick up to share my concern about the food. I visited the drive-thru to order 2 pounds of grilled ribs with two sides. I chose potato salad and coleslaw as my sides. I also ordered a slice of lemon pie and a large sweet tea. For sauces, I selected the habanero and the regular Jommie Nick's barbecue sauce. Although the drive-thru was quite crowded, the line moved fairly quickly. The customer service was excellent, and everything was neatly packed in the bag. The food was delicious, especially the potato salad and the ribs.
Great recommendation from local hotel staff! The food was delicious and plentiful... I had the smoked turkey breast with trimmings the white sauce was a tasty enhancement! And, if you've never had a cheese biscuit, you need to get your life right... Antoinette and Brittany were a joy to meet, serving us with smiles and kindness. They'll likely see me again soon!
Be sure to ask for Alexia! She is incredible! Very welcoming, knowledgeable about the menu, and provides excellent recommendations tailored to your dietary preferences. She is attentive to her tables and truly makes the dining experience enjoyable. I highly recommend Jim 'N Nick’s. The food was delicious and the overall experience was fantastic! Thank you!
As first-time customers, we had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The food and service were excellent. Our server, Hunter, was very polite and attentive. We really enjoyed our meal and the overall atmosphere. It was a very pleasant visit, and as a nice surprise, they even gave me a free t-shirt on our way out! We will definitely be returning! service and eat as well as usual. consistent. clean, attentive. chili differs from most and I liked it. the salat clothing was also great and light. southern sweeter tee if you like it like it and I. the deviled eggs are sweeter than the oma. another little something is different and good.
