I have just read a review of Joe's Kiosk stating that they had had bad coffee. What a shame they didn't complain. Joe would be the last person on earth to allow a client to leave dissatisfied.We have been visiting Joe's 3 or 4 times a week for the past 8 years. From the first time, when they had just turned the hotplates off prior to shutting so we were unable to eat, we have been treated more than cordially. That day we were given a Baci with our coffee in lieu of lunch.Joe's is a meeting place for anyone who goes there more than once. Folk are friendly and happily share a table. Nice little beachfront cafe, thought we would stop for a tea and a bit of breakfast - the young male staff member who took our order was polite, friendly and courteous but as he took the order an older, bald male came over and completely tore him to shreds in front of us - saying 'do you know the difference between a 'm' and a 'b' he wanted a macc not a black coffee' I really felt for the young lad and it made us as customers feel really awkward. Then when we sat down I heard the same miserable so and so yell to a young waitress 'well they ain't gonna dry over there are they' Our food came and it was ok to be fair - quite nice in fact however I really wanted some butter for my toast but didn...
I've often walked past Joe's kiosk. I've ventured in once before only discover its cash only. But today was the day we made sure we had cash before we arrived. A cold blustery day. What an amazing place. The coffee is great. The breakfast is very good. $15 for a very generous big breakfast of bacon and eggs. Whilest watching the waves and enjoying the company of my wife. The inside of the eatery is covered with pictures of Joe's patrons. Well worth the effort. Remember cash only. But make the effort.
Visiting from WA - I rode my Mountain Bike down Linear Park from the CBD to the beach and then up the short distance to Joe's.I was welcomed as though I was a local (but it was my first time there).The coffee was well made.The food was spot on.The photos of visitors all over the ceiling and the great painting of "Joe" are great decorations.I liked that this is a dog friendly cafe - I got to say hello to several fur-friends while I was there.It had a great, friendly vibe. Joe's Kiosk is a hidden gem. This has become one of my favourite coffee stops along the coast when I am out and about on my bike. There is internal and external seating and you have a good range of food options and some of the best coffee in Henley. If you are lucky you may even spot some dolphins having fun in the surf. This is also a great location if you have been walking your dog as this is a dog friendly cafe with good outdoor seating so you can be with your pet.
Forget having a conversation with your friends as you have to listen carefully to hear your name being called to collect your coffee. That's fine but not the best in a noisy cafe. If bacon from a dirty bbq plate and you don't want to choose how you want your eggs done is your thing then go for the view. Otherwise there are much better breakfast options around henley. Large serves but large doesn't necessarily mean good
We go every week for our coffee on a Sunday morning. The service is exceptional and Jo himself makes certain he speaks to all to make them welcome. The coffee has been better, they must have changed coffee beans recently. Still worth going as the bacon and egg sandwiches are big and tasty.
