Johnny Macaroni's (West Street)

What a great find! A little hidden gem with some of the best tasting Italian I've had in years! This was our first time here. I'm from Chicago and grew up enjoying amazing homemade Italian food and great restaurants too. As soon as we walked into Johhny Macaroni's, it smelled like the Italian cooking from home, which was a good sign! We were not disappointed; everything from the fresh bread, the meatballs, the appetizers (antipasto salad! , to the main entrees were excellent! And the portions were huge! The food was very good, a lot of food and reasonably priced. The resturant door is actually in the back of the building, which can be confusing for the first time visitor. Now the downside...it is very loud and unfortunately the dining room was buzzing with flies. For me nothing worst then having to wave flies off your meal. We will try it again for lunch but not for dinner on a Friday night. Service: Dine in

we sat right away, but eating took longer than expected to arrive. also the restaurant felt very tight and our tiny table, which was clamped in the corner was incredibly tacky. overall the eating was delicious, but the atmosphere and the service were missing terrible!
