They advertise a music series in the beer garden to attract fans to buy seasonal memberships only to cancel the music at the first sign of wind and leave the musicians hanging with no effort to compensate or reschedule. They cancelled the musician with 4 hours notice today because it was too muddy and then continued to host a crowd on the grounds.
A fantastic way to support and help preserve the JH House! I would visit more frequently if the entrance fee were $5 instead of $10. The live music and yard games create a wonderful atmosphere. It's family and dog-friendly, offering a very relaxing backyard vibe with neighbors and friends. I definitely recommend it!
I have studied and taught at his university , and been to his hospital, but I never knew his birthplace survived. It is in rough shape, but there is a dedicate cadre of volunteers who will show you around. Most of the surrounding farm land is now condos and single family homes. Volunteer, donate, spread the word.
This is a lovely venue with a rich heritage that's definitely worth visiting. I highly recommend becoming a member and joining the Live Music and beer event every Friday! Réservez une table maintenant
