What a disappointing evening. We went to Joseph Decuis last evening to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I told them when I made the reservation several weeks ago we would be celebrating his birthday. We were seated at a table in the back corner of the room where only one of us could see others in the dining room. We ordered our wine and looked over the menu. There were only 4 entrees to choose from. Three beef dishes and one vegetarian. OK, they are famous for the Waygu beef so we thought we would each have a fillet. Wrong. Went to the Emporium for the first time today with some friends. Dennis was an amazing help and really made my friends and I feel welcomed! Dennis was very knowledgeable on the wines and even brought us out some to try! Even though the areas for dinner we’re not open, he walked us through and gave us a tour and it is such a beautiful place. We will definitely be back for dinner! We sat out in the courtyard and since we just got back from France a few months ago, we felt like we were brought back to our tea party in the French countryside!
This was our second visit to Joseph Decuis, and it did not disappoint. The concept of farm-to-table is taken to the next level here, as they have their very own Wagyu beef farm! The menu is crafted daily, depending on what is fresh and available from their garden. Although the steak portions may seem small at first glance, you'll be impressed by both the presentation and the generous serving size. I left with a happy and content heart!
Excellent food, an intriguing story, and the finest service in town. As someone who has had the privilege of traveling extensively throughout my life, I now find myself retired and traveling less. We also tried the Wagyu chili dog, which was tasty but a bit tough to bite through. The flavor was great, but I think I’d stick with a burger next time. The chili was fantastic, and we ended up topping our fries with it, which I highly recommend. All in all, a wonderful experience!
