Tucked away on Chapel Street's not so glitzy south eastern extremity is Kabul Flavour restaurant and bar, located squarely in terrain that is already already restaurant rich. But that is perhaps as it should be. White linen on the tables, a clean and airy outlook on to Windsor station underplay the Afghan association - no crass cultural signifiers here. A contrast with some of the competition. This place is a delight. It is low key and relaxed, with good ethnic fare and special prices for lunch. Service is a bit underdone but it will improve. Lamb is a specialty in various guises with Kofta Kebab with sour cream, long grain rice and a mixed vegetable salad outstanding. Qabuli Palow is long-gr...

I was impressed by the variety of dining options available on the Windsor end of Chapel Street. This new restaurant, open for 8 months, has potential but may still be finding its footing based on the lack of customers on a Sunday night. I suggest adding a table out front with a display of Nargiles or Turkish Water Pipes to attract more attention. The flavors of the Middle Eastern cuisine were not as strong as I expected, but the dhal was well-prepared and the small samosa with coriander chutney was a standout. The kofta kebab had a nice smoky flavor, although one of the four pieces was undercooked. Overall, the restaurant is worth a visit, but there is room for improvement (and less time on...

We were anxious about parking in Chapel Street, however, this restaurant is very close to the Windsor Railway Station and there is a carpark, as well as street parking. This little cafe is small and serving Afghan food, a little similar to Indian. We really enjoyed the samosas, dips and the lamb kebab dish is very tasty, We also had the chicken quorma which is served with rice, plentiful and delicious, Hassan runs this cafe and has an amazing story to tell you if you ask, it's also been reviewed in the newspaper, which has pride of place in the front window, Very simple, but worth a visit for a casual meal. It's also BYO, as well as serving wine at reasonable prices. Enjoy!

Me and my partner went to this little Afghan restaurant on a Saturday. They have very cheap lunch specials so we decided to try them. We also got a "sharing mixed entrée". The restaurant style is very simple but the staff is very friendly and accommodating. They were very nice in explaining the different types of plates and the service was quick, maybe also due to the fact that the restaurant was empty. The food was very very good, with well cooked meat and interesting sauces. The different spices used were perfectly combined and not to intense. They also have many vegetarian and gluten free options. Worth a try! Réservez une table maintenant

A cafe style restaurant with a decent sized menu that caters to vegetarians and gluten free. Good for sharing. We had the traditional Afghan steamed dumplings, the fried eggplant and the fried potato to start. They were all delicious. The dumplings being my favourite. My friend and I shared the mix grill platter. The meat was cooked beautifully and there was plenty for both of us. We had all three of the desserts and they were delicious too. The three of us shared a bottle of wine and the bill was $115, and we were sitting next to Melbourne comic Judith Lucy! All in all a very pleasant dining experience.

Lovely little restaurant, clean and homely atmosphere with traditional music playing. How good to hear local music playing instead of top of the pops! The Munro dumplings are delicious and the falafel the best ever. Main course of Kabul pilaf was excellent - no-one cooks pilaf as well as the Afghanis. It transported us back to our visit to Afghanistan many many years ago!

It's hard to find a place in Chapel street where you can have two courses for under $25 per head. And BYO. Throw in table clothes, friendly service and music that doesn't make conversation difficult and it's even harder. This ticks all the boxes. The entree tasting plate for two and the dumplings are standouts.

Great restaurant with lovely food and lovely staff. Food is fresh with beautiful flavours. Highly recommend the dumplings! Don't let the quiet tables deter you, this place is one of the best kept secrets in Windsor. Réservez une table maintenant
