I visited this restaurant tonight for my birthday with my friends, and it turned out to be one of the best dinners I've ever experienced. Our chef, Christian, put on an outstanding performance. Usually at hibachi restaurants, the cooks keep to themselves—they prepare the food, say thank you, and move on. But Christian was engaging and had a great time interacting with us. He even allowed one of us to take a turn cooking! We really enjoyed getting to know him, and we agreed to make it a regular outing, coming back every month or two to have him as our chef.
This is one of the better Japanese restaurants in Atlanta, aside from Shoya and those more expensive upscale spots. They offer a hibachi teppanyaki grill option where chefs put on entertaining performances, along with a regular dining area. The lunch sets are very affordable, ranging from $11 to $16. They also have Sapporo beer on tap and a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The atmosphere is quite pleasant, and there's a bar as well. It's a great place to enjoy a meal, especially if you're visiting the nearby Kinokuniya bookstore or Royce!
I ordered a beef bento box, but it arrived with just two tiny pieces of beef. It was missing the fried rice, and half of my miso soup spilled all over the bag, making a mess of everything. When I called the manager, he insisted that the fried rice was in the bag and said there was nothing he could do. He mentioned that the bento box typically comes with 'less' beef. Frankly, if the amount of beef in my bento is considered standard, it should be labeled as a vegetarian bento box.
Usually, we have a fantastic time at this restaurant, but this visit was a disaster. We ordered two dishes through DoorDash, and our order was missing the fried rice. Additionally, my friend's Bento Box had only two pieces of beef. The restaurant refused to address the issue, and the person we spoke to, presumably the manager, was completely unhelpful. To top it off, the green beans were barely cooked—how difficult is it to sauté green beans for just a minute or two? Réservez une table maintenant
The experience was wonderful! It all began with the adorable host in her small pink kimono and continued with the incredible hibachi chef who dazzled us with the onion volcano. This restaurant truly makes dining enjoyable time and time again! The drink selection at the bar is extensive, but I must mention that the bar is quite large for the bartender to handle. Someone needs to get this little guy a stool! Food: 5/5
The Hibachi section can be a bit loud because the chefs entertain the guests, but the dining room areas are much more peaceful. Our server was incredibly attentive and ensured we had everything we needed, and our chef certainly knew his way around the grill. The food was exceptional! I highly recommend this restaurant, and I will definitely be returning soon.
The food was good overall. I ordered the tempura udon, which was exactly what I anticipated, although it was a bit on the salty side. The hibachi was decent, but the chicken could have used more seasoning for better flavor. Despite that, the service and food were solid overall. I’d rate it 4 out of 5.
