I was told the wait was an hour then after and hour and a half i went up to ask how much longer and was told and hour that there were a lot of people in front of us so we went to the bar and order an appetizer. Then they called two large parties that had not even been waiting 30 minutes yet. So i went back and asked and noticed she had rewrote the list and taken us off. She said i thought u left i said no we are in the bar after waiting 2 hours. All she said was you will be next. How do u remove us from the waiting list without even calling us? Our waiter and chef were great though and the food was great. Just keep reminding them u are there.
When we first arrived and were seated, we found ourselves seated next to some unfriendly Caucasians who seemed to question why we were there. Uncomfortable, I requested to be moved. The chef's performance was satisfactory, but nothing stood out to impress us. The food was average. Despite mentioning my aunt's birthday in the reservation, it went unrecognized. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience at the restaurant on Saturday.
It was my granddaughter’s 10th Birthday and it’s a tradition to eat at Kanki, at her request. The food and service was excellent. Our chef, Omar was fantastic!!!
This is clearly the best teppanyaki restaurant (fancy knife-work on a grill at your table) nearby to Durham and Chapel Hill.

45 minute wait and I see 4 tables completely empty! We got here at 5:30This is ridiculous.! Don't get me wrong I love the food.
I truly enjoyed celebrating my Birthday with my Daughter and my 2 granddaughters on June 3rd. The food is absolutely delicious.
