Our food was fantastic; everything we had was delicious from appetizers to sushi. Impressive span of options on menu without going overboard. Ambience was also very nice. However, our waiter was terrible from start to finish. It seemed he was ready for us to leave before we even ordered. We felt rushed despite the restaurant having several other tables. He took a bottle of wine away before it was even close to being finished, without asking, and dumped it out. He hovered while we paid the bill, which he was clearly in a rush for us to pay. The food was superb, especially the nigiri and maki. My 11 year old could not stop talking about how amazing the tuna was. The udon was also fantastic as was the calamari. The only disappointing dish was the chicken teriyaki which was a little cold and not great for my 7 year old who wanted his rice on the side not under his chicken and had the sauce on it. We’ll know for next time how to order for him though. Overall, excellent service and food

my very 1st time at Kansaku at the recommendation of a neighbor i am SO incredibly happy! my sister came from Schaumburg our best friend from Hyde Park .. both of them were extremely happy with our decision to try this restaurant as well! we will definitely be back!

this is a popular neighbourhood restaurant, but I wanted to mention the wonderful service on our last visit. kevin was very attentive and made an already great experience wonderful.

What can I say? This is a great place for sushi in Evanston. The service has been inconsistent recently, but I believe it's just a staffing issue from what I've observed.
