Outstanding as always! We made reservations for a group of 11 on Friday to celebrate a few birthdays. One thing led to another, this person invited that person, and we showed up with 18. But the hostess was amazing, kept us in the loop as to what was happening and got us all seated together just a few minutes later than our reservation time. Service was spectacular apps and drinks were well paced, and all 18 meals arrived hot, fresh and everyone got exactly what they ordered! Fish was delicious, though I'm still slightly bummed that there are no traditional German entrees available on Friday (unless you count brats). But I get it K.I.S.S. Honestly, this is a 3 star food place, but the atmosphere boosts a star. It doesn’t need any recommendations after being featured on “Taste the Nation.” It’s lively, historical, with a beautiful beer garden and great service. Everyone there seems like they are having a great time (us included! The classic fish fry is good, but nothing incredible. The tartar sauce is very mild. Definitely sub the french fries for the potato cakes.

The fish fry Friday is very good. Delicious breading on the cod, walleye, and perch. The hofbrau beers in dimples mugs are a must order. Most importantly, the ambiance of the inn is like stepping back in time to a German inn in the Alps. Highly recommend and will be returning

Historic interior and excellent German food. If you’re planning on going to the Friday fish fry, make reservations and come early or be prepared to wait! The regular German menu is comprehensive and outstanding, with a fantastic beer selection as well

Great fish fry and cold beer in a mug. Perfect. Wonderful German atmosphere in a large spacious setting. Fast friendly service.
