During our visit to the restaurant, my wife was seated while the rest of us waited outside. The hostess encouraged us to all take a seat together. We were in the waiting area for about 30 seconds before being rushed inside, only to wait an additional 10 minutes as we noticed other groups who arrived after us being seated first. Once we were finally seated, we got our drinks, but then waited 30 minutes for our food order. Meanwhile, tables around us, who were seated after us, received their broth and appetizers, while we were ignored.

I had the chicken fried steak, broccoli cheese casserole, and carrots with cream gravy, along with a side salad. We arrived at 12:15 during the lunch rush, and the restaurant was quite busy! The service was good, and even though it was a bit slow, I completely understood and didn't mind at all. The food was excellent and arrived faster than I had expected. Definitely the best place to go and have breakfast. If you think everything's big in Texas, they appreciate this. 1 dish is for 2 people if you are a type of customer who can not eat too much you can definitely save money by ordering 1 dish for 2. The waiters are nice and they check if you need anything else at all times. We had ordered baked potato size is good, you just need to order extra side of the sour cream or cheese. The food was tasteless and reminded me of oversized cafeteria meals right out of a can. I ordered the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, spinach, and mac and cheese. The steak was so tough that I struggled to chew it, much less swallow it. I asked for white gravy but got cream of chicken soup instead. None of the dishes were seasoned at all. Even Luby’s or hospital food would have been a better choice. I ended up spending $42 and didn't even finish my tea!

Kelley's was a great experience. Incredible menu of choices. Several daily specials each day. I had the Combo Texas Baked Potato with a green salad. Salad was fresh. The Texas Baked Potato was the biggest Potato i had ever seen or tried to eat. Potato was hot and delicious with plenty to take home and enjoy! I highly recommend this Houston eating establishment with its friendly service.
The ambiance of this restaurant reflects a classic country cooking vibe. The portions are generous and impressive! I ordered the country fried chicken for lunch, choosing the smaller size, yet I still couldn't finish it. It was absolutely mouthwatering! Two other people dining with me also really enjoyed their meals.
I was completely satisfied after my visit. I'm from Phoenix and a local recommended this place to me, and it did not disappoint. The portion sizes were generous, and the food was even better! The Texas hospitality was also fantastic, and I even got a little history lesson about the restaurant from my waitress!
This is definitely the best breakfast place in Houston! Make sure to come with an appetite because the portions are very large—so much so that you might not want to eat for the rest of the day. The staff here are fantastic, and I can't wait to return repeatedly!
