We had a slightly disappointing experience here. What appears to be a very small takeaway place we found to have a dining room to the side which was full when we went despite being around 6pm on a weeknight. The food took a very very long time to come, and the entree we ordered as we sat down arrived last. Some of the food was warm rather than hot, but I have to say a couple of dishes were absolutely delicious. Overall cannot see myself returning.
Ordered take away. The vegetarian bento box was bland and the tofu was under cooked. The teriyaki chicken was also flavourless and underwhelming. The young man at the front counter was rude and when asked for take away bag he just gave me a bag to pack all my items. Should have gone to our regular take away place a few doors down Nanas. Really disappointing and over priced.
This was the largest bento box I have ever had! It came with two large pieces of eel, a deep-fried prawn, calamari, crab croquette, dumpling, chicken karaage, agedashi tofu, salad with sesame sauce and seaweed, and miso soup. Every dish was cooked perfectly and delicious. I ended up walking for two hours after this meal because there was just so much food!
Authentic Japanese cuisine that leaves us wanting to come back every week! The adagashi tofu, soba noodles, maki sushi, miso and so much more are all delicious. The complimentary barley tea is a welcome bonus. If you're after quality Japanese cuisine and you're in the Camberwell area, you won't regret dining at Kenji. Réservez une table maintenant
This charming Japanese restaurant offers authentic, non-fusion cuisine that is not overly westernized. The atmosphere is clean and healthy, with reasonably priced dishes. The sushi and sashimi plate is particularly delicious and generous in portion size for its affordable price.
Love the dining atmosphere and friendlystaff. Really enjoyed the meals with friends. A bit crowded hence the popularity which is totally understandable. Will go this weekend again！
Tucked away in a little arcade it could be easily missed but It's been a long long long time since I've had really nice fresh sushi with a generous amount of condiments. Yummy.
