I visited Kensington Kosher Delicatessen for the first time today craving a Pastrami on Rye. My wife and I ordered a Pastrami on Rye, Spinach Kinish, a Hot Dog with mustard and kraut, and an order of fries. While the service was fast and friendly, the food—except for the hot dog—was disappointing. The pastrami was dry and cold, and my wife wasn’t even sure if her Kinish was spinach, as it tasted unusual, possibly broccoli. The fries were overcooked and seemed reheated. I had high hopes based on the menu, but unfortunately, the quality didn’t meet expectations.
This is our third visit in a row where we received leftover fries that were disappointing. They really need to stop serving fries that have been sitting out too long—we can definitely tell the difference. The matzo ball soup was nothing special. I won’t be ordering a pastrami sandwich anymore either, since the last time it was cold and sliced poorly. It’s clear by the quality that they’ve been relying too much on their reputation for far too long. This place has gradually declined, and I won’t be coming back with my family.
I came in today to place an order. The staff was cleaning the dirty sink with the same gloves they use to serve food. It was really gross and disappointing. The other staff member sneezed into his gloves and than proceeded to pick up Knish with the samedirty glove to serve to customer. This place does not follow proper DOH guidelines. .
This place is unlike anywhere else. It truly showcases the best deli on Long Island. The meat is outstanding, and the hot dogs become addictive for anyone who tries them.

I finally found an authentic pastrami sandwich in Queens, and I couldn't be happier! Thank you, Kensington Kosher Delicatessen, for your amazing menu!
Nothing like it anywhere around. Hands down the best deli on LI. The meats are outstanding and the hotdogs are an addiction to anyone that tried them
The derma lacked authenticity. The potato pancakes were flavorful but quite small. Additionally, no mustard or dressing was provided on the side.
I'm not sure how the food tastes, but I just want to clarify that it’s a kosher-style restaurant, not actually kosher.

The pastrami and coleslaw were superb, and the black and white cookie was delicious as well!
