The food here is awesome! I love the mushroom gravy option but the sausage gravy is awesome too! The host/table cleaner roles definitely need some work and guidance. A large party came in much later than us, yet were sat AND drinks served before myself and fiance. I had to ask the hostess directly to seat us. Thankfully, our server, was wonderful. We did not get his name, but he turned our experience around. He himself seemed be doing more host work than the actual hostess. I recommend that next time they do not set a large party that came in after the small party. This is not a great look. Love everything about this place. So much so I registered so I could write a review. It 's clean, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming and the food is phenomenal. I got the chicken fried tofu burger with a side of fries. Their fries are crisp and full of flavor, I didn 't even need sauce. The tofu breading was crisp, peppery and delicious and the tofu inside was a perfect texture. The vegan herb sauce on top was a great touch. My wife got their fish chips and it was also great. I’ve lived in the Olympia area since 2006, and have been here for every closing and reopening of the reef since then. The newest addition has an updated menu offering a fusion of Asian and American diner food. The bar in the back hasn’t been updated, but the diner in the front has newer seating and decorations. They have the best kale Cesar salad I’ve ever had! I also have enjoyed the pork belly blt, and their burgers are great. It’s a little more pricy then in previous years, but not unreasonable. I have dined at this restaurant for both breakfast and dinner, and both meals were excellent. I usually order a simple breakfast with chicken-fried tofu, home fries, and vegan butter, which comes in large portions. For dinner, I tried the chicken-fried tofu burger with fries and vegan ranch for dipping. The menu also offers tempeh, vegan chili, and a vegan pie option.

This place is so good. We came in for breakfast on a Saturday. The biscuits and gravy, pork belly Benedict and the Hungus Hash were all outrageously delicious. I keep coming back to the Reef because I LOVE the atmosphere inside. It's a cute little diner and it has a great location. However, the food is just okay in my opinion. The vegan ranch and fries are the best thing they have, their seitan buffalo sandwich leaves a lot to be desired. It's a good place to go with omni friends though.
The food and service was okay. Nothing amazing and no complaints. We went with our 15month old and we really appreciated them putting our order in quick and getting the food out quick! Several vegan options and the waiter said he was vegan, so he understood our needs!
Ordered the tempeh buffalo sandwich and vegan chili- both delicious! Decent service, quirky atmosphere. Funky little spot to grab some vegan comfort food.
