The restaurant used to be fantastic with a wonderful atmosphere. I spent over 1000 pounds there in 2021. However, it has since declined in quality. The manager is incredibly rude and seemed to dislike me for no apparent reason. She would purposely ignore me and refuse to take my order, all because I once politely pointed out an overcharge. The atmosphere has changed due to restrictions imposed by the council, including the addition of a bouncer and a screen at the bar, which takes away from the original vibe. Probably the worst roast I’ve ever had, made even worse by the terrible and unaccomodating service me and my friends experienced today. We all ordered at the same time yet half had finished theirs before the rest came out which was only prompted by us asking where the rest of our group’s food was multiple times. No apology offered at any point for what should be a basic expectation of going out for a meal together. We were made to feel like we were trying to con them simply by asking for the meals we were yet to receive. It took 2 hours in total for us to receive our food. Incompetent and rude staff, poor quality meat and overall quality of food. Avoid !!!
This still new-to-me pub drew us in for Thursday dinner. We were greeted very well at the bar, drinks bought and taken to the garden with menu in hand then, as promised, Jensen came to take our order and inspired confidence we 'd made a good choice. After the correct wait out came our meals. Gorgeous, that 's how I 'd describe my Seabass Fillet meal, other half 's Haddock chips looked (as confirmed) superb too. Though I was only on lemonade, driving later, it was served with ice and lemon... this is a pub where service clearly matters. Thanks to Jensen, Chef and the team, I/we will defo go across London to visit again.
The staff at this pub are rude, the temperature inside is freezing, it is geared towards people that go there often, not made to feel welcome, you'd think with trade falling off in the pub business the staff behind the bar would be less rude, twice we said we were paying by cash and twice we had the machine pushed towards us. Dark and dingy if you want a good pub try the Flask, good staff, roaring fire, clean glasses, clean tables and no attitude .. oh and no annoying door that squeaked and groaned every time it was opened plus The Flask has lights and is inviting.

This cozy and charming pub offers a friendly atmosphere with good beer and attentive staff. The restaurant hosts great events like live music and is clean and well-maintained, despite its age. However, the rooms are old and small, only suitable for those who are not picky. Some issues include poor water pressure leading to either ice cold or boiling hot showers. The noise from the restaurant below may also be disruptive for some guests.
Decided to travel into Hampstead and look for a Sunday roast drink. I hadn’t been to this pub since I moved out of the area in 1977. It was fabulous. We each had a different roast Steak/Lamb/Pork with all the trimmings and it was tasty and plentiful. We were looked after by a lovely lady with gorgeous curly hair, who is a credit to the place. Will start going regularly.
The food at this restaurant is consistently amazing. I always have a fantastic meal here and give 10 out of 10 to the chef and pub team. The drinks are reasonably priced and some of the best in Hampstead. The bar team is fantastic and deserves all the praise. The hotel above the restaurant has wonderful rooms that are definitely worth staying in.
The chef on sun 10th dec, was absolutely unprofessional, rude and aggressive. The roast dinner we had was dry, the vegetables were dry. Wasnt fresh at all. The head chef came out when we asked for it to be replaced. The chef kicked off. Started pointing his fingers and shouting in our faces infront of the venue. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.

This restaurant continues to be a favorite among the LGBTQ+ community, with a history dating back to when a subtle knock on the door was all you needed to gain entry. It offers good value for money and is loved by many.
