The Kingsmen Ale house is a cozy, neighborhood English style pub which has been opened for almost a year now and we wanted to try it out and we were not disappointed. The food was great and the service was excellent! Both of which I appreciate~We tried the fish and chips ( parmesan "dusted" fries) and the steak and mushroom pie made with fresh veggies/ steak wrapped in a delicious phyllo pastry. Both meals were terrific , much better than average pub food.Our waitress was top notch all around and when we ordered dessert, she suggested ordering one bread pudding to share instead of 2 and she was not kidding. My friend and I were going to an early movie so we opted to come here for dinner. We arrived at 5 pm on a weeknight and the place was almost full. That says a lot about it's popularity. This was my third time eating here and I will return again. The service has always been excellent. The only thing I could complain about was the extra charge I had. I had the crab cake appy and it did come with a sauce however the sauce was thick , spread on the bottom of the plate and covered with lettuce which was stuck to the dressing so I couldn't really use it to dip the crab cake into it. I would have preferred seafood sauce so I decided be creative and asked for a bit of their horse radish sauce to whi...
My wife and I started off with a scotch egg each, the eggs and pickled veg was delicious, but the male jn the mustard was a little much. A good mustard would have been satisfying. Main course crab sandwich was delicious and wife's beef and cheddar sandwich was great, but huge, it covered her lunch the following day.The staff were incredibly friendly and so welcoming. I felt like we had got forgotten, but that didn't last long. I was a little surprised at what is classified as acceptable work attire as the waitresses skirt was incredibly short. Not usually seen in a traditional ale house, or in public for that matter.
A very nice selection of beer lots of Alberta craft brews on tap so sat here & had a few while watching some NHL playoffs. I ordered some food to go with my beers I got the Beef N Cheese roast beef sandwich, which has housemade cheese wiz, with the soup of the day. The soup was a East Indian Mulligatawny which had carrots, celery, coconut in a curry style broth was pretty taste & smelled amazing. The roast beef sandwich was alright but seemed like it was missing something not sure what but maybe something like fried onions & or peppers.
I have never had a bad meal here. The food is absolutely fabulous. The steak pot pie. Totally a classic meal from the UK. And the fish and chips are soo yum. The atmosphere of this pub is so cozy. I would recommend this pub to anyone looking for a nice quiet sit down meal. Always looking forward my next pint at the kingsman ale house. 2 thumbs up for sure.
Visited for a work party and found the service excellent. The appetizers were also excellent and fairly priced. They do indeed have a vast variety if beer and ale on tap. If your looking to try a few new beers at a fair price look no farther. I would recimmend for a evening out with co workers.
First time here for lunch. My wife had a lunch special 1/2 chicken sandwich with clam chowder soup. Sandwich tasted great but bottom bun was a little greasy. The soup was divine!!!I had 2 pieces of fish and chips. Very good!Service was ok but a little slow as there was only one waitress on.
