I love the concept of a primarily togo offshoot of a Japanese restaurant in Berkeley but the prices are way too high for both the quality and service. These are higher prices than I see at restaurants where the food is not sitting in a fridge. I'm a huge proponent of take out sushi in this style (Kyoto on Solano Ave has a very similar business) but the prices need to come down because every time I stop by eager to have some sushi, I'm turned away from refrigerated sushi costing more than freshly made sushi I could get from a restaurant in 10 minutes. Came here on a Wednesday night and the place was packed. Luckily, despite the full house we only waited for about 10 minutes before we got our table. Once seated we ordered a whole bunch of stuff. Everything was pretty tasty, except for the Japanese salad which is not my favorite. Also everything was rather small in portion, if it weren't for the udon, I would have definitely needed more food. All in all, it was a good meal and the food was yummy. I just need to order more food next time to make sure I don't leave hungry. Lol...
A hidden gem on Telegrafenstraße, Kirala is a delightful spot for lunch. I shared the sushi and a hamachi collar bento box, and I wasn't disappointed. Kirala is renowned for its generous portions of fresh sushi, and this little stall in the food court lived up to its reputation. The sushi was fresh and flavorful, while the hamachi collar bento box was superb. The fish was a bit salty, but paired with the rice, it was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be returning for more!

My partner and I split two rolls from here. It tasted really good! I'm cheap so I went for one of the reduced price rolls, which I assume was made the day before and discounted because of that. There was a noticable difference in taste, but not so much that it ruined the roll. The roll we got fresh tasted fantastic. Great place to get in, eat, and get out quickly. Affordable as well.
I came to this place first time because I was in the area. There are many choice of sushi. Few choice of Bento ; there are Chicken Katsu, Kara Age and Fish Bento. The Grilled Fish bento does not come with any sauce. All the sauce sold separately. Taste? Ok. Price is reasonable. If there is any left over from yesterday, it would be free with minimum $10 purchase.
We’ve been getting sushi and bentos from this place for years, and they never disappoint. The salmon bentos and assorted sushi are outstanding, and the miso salmon is packed with flavor. They offer a wide selection of bentos and sushi trays. The service is excellent, and the atmosphere is laid-back. We wholeheartedly recommend Kirala 2! Food: 5/5
Excellent Japanese cuisine to go. No waiting time and a wide selection of Sushi, Sashimi, Bentonos and other treats. Quality is as good as the restaurant and the breezy atmosphere is a pleasant experience.

The bento boxes here are fantastic! They taste even better when heated up.
