I now remember why I chose not to return to this restaurant. I was in the plaza near the salon suites and was craving some food, so I decided to have lunch here. I ordered the $10 lunch special which included curry chicken, collard greens, and rice and peas. I was disappointed to find that the food lacked any authentic Jamaican or Caribbean flavor. The collard greens were excessively salty, the rice and peas didn't have enough coconut milk cooked in, and the curry chicken had no discernible curry taste. I would not recommend this restaurant and I will not be returning.
I tend to crave ox tail and beef patties now and then, and have little time to make them myself. I’ve tried a few places in this area and so far Kool Runnings is my favorite! Very satisfying and it’s great to find DG Jamaican soft drinks again! Have yet to try Ting, though. Walking in, I personally don’t like the atmosphere too much. It’s spacious and looks nice, but has a very “business as usual” vibe, and I’ve only hear Bob Marley play. I have yet to stay and eat. Usually just take it to go.
I don’t know if they were just tired today or if it was the fight going on between the people working there at the time. Maybe there was a change in manager or cook but today was NO GOOD (previous visits were at least good). I ordered by phone then had to reorder when I got there (I think the man that took my order was too busy arguing to put in my order) . My brown stew chicken was just stew chicken which was bland. Oxtail was lacking.
I have tried 3 times to eat their food since they have changed chef. The first time the food had no seasoning, the 2nd time the food was too salty and the most recent was Friday and the peas and rice was mushy and the plantains. The oxtails had no seasoning at all. I threw the food in the garbage it was so bad. I will not be back. I don’t know who the chef is but he needs to go back to cooking school.

Yesterday, I visited Kool Runnings and ordered curry chicken, peas and rice, and collard greens. I was extremely disappointed with the food - the rice was bland with no seasoning, and the curry chicken was also unappetizing. It didn't even taste like authentic Jamaican cuisine. I will not be returning to this restaurant until they hire a new cook.
I have ordered from this restaurant before and the food is delicious. However, I am disappointed that I spent $30 and received only half the amount of food compared to my last order. The oxtails were not full size and the portion sizes were very small.
The portion of meat given compared to the sides is horrible. I received 3 small bones of oxtails and a ton of rasta pasta. After driving 30 minutes to get the food I am disappointed and will not be returning as it was not worth the cost.
I dont think Jamicans are cooking this food. The rice was over cooked and the oxtail were tough. This place has gone down drastically.

The food here is good! Please note their website is out of date. Instead of 3 side you only get 2.
I love eating here. The food is good and everyone always makes you feel right at home.
