I've been going to Kotobuki for many years now, and it has become my absolute favorite Japanese restaurant in town. The people who work there are amazing--they're kind, friendly, and always make me feel welcome. And the food...oh my goodness, the food is just unbelievable. If you want real Japanese sushi, this is the place to be. It's a hidden gem where you can get oysters, mackerel, and red snapper straight from Japan. The blue tuna is also particularly noteworthy. And the homie atmosphere just makes the experience that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend Kotobuki to anyone who wants to experience authentic Japanese cuisine.
I can count on one hand the sushi places that have wowed me in the Tri-State Area, this is one of them. With a cold sake selection of over 80 different bottles and some of the freshest fish I have eaten, I was amazed at the quality of the meal. The service was equally impressive; I unfortunately do not remember the gentleman’s name but we all agreed he cared deeply about his work and it showed. The No Man’s Roll, Toro and Uni a la carte, and The Mirror of Truth (Sake bottle) were our biggest takeaways. I will most certainly return next time I am in the area. A
Love Kotobuki. The food is fresh. Great variety. Staff is excellent. And they also have a great saki list. The owner is always behind the sushi bar, which was awesome. He has a great story. It’s a family place, which you don’t find frequently anymore. The atmosphere is inviting, quiet, peaceful. It’s a hideaway in Stamford my husband and I love. Highly recommend. Call for reservations, on weekends it can get full.
Spent $100 on delivery. The sushi was generally good, but our clams appetizer was TERRIBLE. Sandy, gritty, very little clam meat and many were still closed. I called to complain and the girl answering was incredibly rude. Not only did she hang up on me, she refused to give me her name or let me speak with a manager. She told me I should write a bad review so, wish granted Kotobuki and we'll never return.

I've dined here almost weekly since moving to the area 6 months ago. The food here is exceptional, both lunch and dinner. The service and prices are good too. I've eaten sushi in Japan, Korea, NYC, SF and LA. So I know good sushi!
Not only the bad egg on the food, no apology for a broken dish which had multiple chips and dangerous. The oil was also very old which made temperatures yellow. We will not return to this place again. Very disappointed
Just an amazing dining experience. Traditional options and exciting new flavors. If you enjoy sushi then by all means THIS is the place you've been waiting for.
Great sushi. I used to eat here a lot 8 years ago when I lived in the area. Just visited the place again... Must say that it hasn't lost it's touch.
