La Bonne Franckette

Maybe this placed opened recently or maybe it just wasn't our day, but most of our requests were met with perplexity. And we didn't order stuffed unicorn :-)We ordered from the open seafood counter which was supposed to display the catch of the day. Open counters close to a busy street wouldn't be our first choice but it was late, tired from the trip and hungry. You know the feeling.When we tried to order something which wasn't on the counter : we were told it wasn't the season.Strange since we saw a lot of these "not the season seafood" next day on the fish-market. A simple : we haven't that in stock, would have done perfectly. After all, its rather unreasonable to expect finding all seafood in a restaurant.We cant complain about the food, it was standard, not exceptional, not bad.Atmosphere in the restaurant however was weird. Prices were rather high for what you got but not extravagantly so.All in all, with all excellent places in Dieppe, I really cant recommend this place till they get it sorted out.

Went to La Bonne Franckette having arrived in Dieppe on the late ferry from Newhaven. Even on a Saturday at around 11 seemed a lot of places had shut up shop and so seemingly not a lot of choice. By contrast or maybe for the aforementioned this place was buzzing and packed with locals. Friendly staff and great place for a couple of beers, especially as they had a singer belting out some songs. Menu looked pretty good too. Certainly a place would return too and recommended.

Bon service avec de la bonne nourriture bien cuisinée et une excellente bière ! Les serveurs étaient attentionnés et amicaux sans être envahissants. Le menu était vaste et étonnamment peu cher, peut-être parce que nous étions loin de la zone principale du restaurant. Nous reviendrons pour profiter d'un bon repas dans un cadre convivial.

Very nice small restaurant. Had the fish soup for lunch & my better half had the fish terrine. Both dishes were great! We were served by owner Franck, felt like a regular.Oh and the cafe gourmand is very gourmand!Hope to have a chance to go back.

I was my first time there. I loved the "moules-frites" especially the "cafe gourmand". I am staying few days in Dieppe and will for sur go back before I finish my vacation to try something else and to have a delicious cafe gourmand.
