La Calade - Réserver une table

If you’re down this way, near Pezenas or thereabouts, get yourself to La Calade. Reserve a table on Sunday or you will be disappointed. You can enjoy the activities in and near the Lac du Salagou and then have a great meal here. Welcomed in by one of the co-owners and given an option of inside of outside on a lovely area. Bit chilly so elected for inside (outside was chockers with guests too). Great service and some fine local wine (50 metres to the local cave so it hadn’t travelled too far) followed by three delicious courses. Two menus, two options/course plus a plat du jour. All four of us loved the courses and we can recommend the pork, the lamb, the foie gras, the desserts and everything else. Just wonderful. We will be back (bit it is 12,000km). Worth the visit. We’ve been coming off and on here for nearly 20 years whenever visiting the area but haven’t been since post Covid and not since the current owners took over. However, this has to be the best experience for us. We visited on a Monday lunchtime and the food, wine and welcoming service was exceptional. Beautiful starters of salmon gravalax or egg, truffle,bacon and girolles set the tone. The main courses of beef fillet for my husband and bream, tuna with a pea and broad bean risotto for me were just wonderful. Accompanying local red and white wines ensured the experience was memorable. A reasonable price for a top quality lunch. The patron was friendly and set the right tone. We will return next week before heading back home.

This is restaurant we visit on an annual basis. This year the food was better than ever. The owner leads the front of house and his wife the kitchen. He speaks excellent English and is very charming. My wife an I had a lovely meal with perfectly presented food. I started with carpaccio of tuna and my wife Gnocci. Followed by fillet of pork and cuttlefish repectively. All were very good and washed down with Mas de Chimere blanc. You won't regret a visit

We descended on the restaurant as a group of 8 rather than 4 tables of 2 as booked. They took it in their stride and accommodated us with the minimum of fuss. Local wine selection is very good. Everyone had a good time and enjoyed their food.
