I am quite surprised by the wide range of reviews. as we live near this place, we come here quite often, sometimes we do family events like birthday dinner here. they have a large selection of foods outside the normal menu, it is all. written on chalkboards, hanging on the wall. we sang here as part of a large group of companies. and normally, if they have a huge group, they can forgive elements of the service that slow down. the service here was good. the food was more willing. a mixed plate-catcher who looked out and felt like what was left. the choice of the main course. meat or fish. not pizza, not pasta, not carpaccio. meat or fish the meat was terrible. salty, fat, almost unusable. the worst Italian I ever had. Kind of a bar bistro place. Very busy with lots of local people as well as tourists. Very nice atmosphere, little bit studenty in style. Wine was pleasant but not great some nice simple snacks and meals we had a plate of...mixed cheeses served with some very nice rustic bread, and a pasta with ham mostly pasta. Great location for sitting and people watching. We sat outside but the interior looked very pleasant. Toilets were very clean.

Very nice, quick service. Quiet and effective, but I have my doubts as for food: Carpaccio nice, but not cold should be made of frozen beef... Salad nice and fresh, but... Pata Negro warmed up with whole plate pork was...dry as well as the vegetables and sausages that was really not perfect and way too much of the herbs. I had an impression of eating herbs, instead of the meat!
Always a good value with a very charming atmosphere I came several times and I passed always a very good Moment. This time I got a nice Vitello tonnato with some pizza Bianca and then this wonderful pasta frutti di mare...a nice grappa with a...freshly home made sorbet... I was in Weinheim on business for a week and tried a few restaurants. La Cantina was by far the best one as it was a genuine real Italian restaurant (not a German restaurant pretending to be Italian). The seafood risotto was great. The owner...was very generous with complimentary appetizers. The decor is a little dusty but the food is good.
excellent food, designed by the chef. .Not only standard pizza, but good fish dishes, salads, spaghetti delicious sauces. large ambiente . moderate prices . very good service beautiful in winter and even more beautiful in summer when they can sit outside.

La Cantina catered the wedding that we attended in the main square in Weinheim and the food was fabulous. Real, authentic Italian food prepare by Italian chefs. I am really fussy and vegetarian and WOW! Excellent!
