We were on a stop-over on a longer trip doing some sightseeing and looking for Dinner, and this restaurant was really nice. Located in the middle of the village, parking on a place directly in front. Most attractions of Saverne just a small walk away, and a really special place: The restaurant is in a really old house, well maintained, with really excellent food. Our sun felt as if this could be "too formal" on the 1st impression, but they had even a children menu and were really friendly.So, a big recommendation if you're in Saverne if you're looking for good local food and you're willing to pay a bit for a nice environment.
On our recent trip to Saverne we were shattered so needed something to eat and saverne is quite pricey. Came across Carpe d'or as it looked very attractive. It's run by a Mum and her daughter, who were both very friendly and spoke some English too.The menu was quite gourmet but we picked the burgers which were unusual but tasty. I also had a chocolate desert which was superb.It was a pleasant atmosphere, clean toilets and got busy around 8ish so is clearly a popular choice. Would recommend if you want a nice ambience and some real Alsace food.
This is such a nice spot that we were sorry when our food arrived so fast! We had the flammkuchen and the schuphnudeln with cheese (and some bacon, of course!). The food was good and the service friendly and fine. I liked the informal, yet attractive, feel of the place. Also, the prices are very reasonable. If you're going for typical food in the region in a less formal atmosphere, this is it...very nice folks.
Unpretentious restaurant specialising in high quality Alsace cuisine at affordable prices. The rognons de veau in a mustard sauce with potato roesti or spaetzle are heavenly as was the dish showcasing minced beef, pork and lamb. Creme brulee was superb. Very knowledgeable staff and friendly service in a good atmosphere.

Think this restaurant no longer exists. We were in Saverne last week and went into the town on Saturday 20th August i.e. the height of the season but this building was not open and there was no evidence it had been for some time,
What I remember most about this place is waiting waiting waiting ...nearly half an hour for 2 pre-prepared desserts. Food itself was unexciting in a solidify sort of way .....good in parts but could be more inspiring.
It was amazing. An unexpected positive surprise. Beautiful decoration in the restaurant. Excellent kitchen. Fair prices. We totally enjoyed the dinner. A "must" in Saverne.
Bel endroit de restauration décontractée avec une délicieuse nourriture et des boissons. Belle atmosphère pour discuter. Cependant, un peu cher pour ce que vous obtenez.

Nous sommes allés pour le végétalien Tagine et Burgerplex 5000 & Marblz (Sérieusement, burger au nom prétentieux) et les enfants ont pris des frites et des mini-burgers.
Je viens juste de récupérer le déjeuner à emporter d'ici. Mon copain et moi avons pris un bol Bouddha chacun.
