This place is an excellent hidden gem of a Mexican restaurant. It is small, and the building could be a touch to some less adventurous eaters, but that just adds to its feeling. It was like a meal in a small cantina in the small town rural Mexico. The portion sizes are sufficient and the prices are very fair. But the actual standout is the food itself as it should be. The menu is a mix of standard fair that Americans would recognize and the more authentic and exciting things, but everything is treated with care and is not tormented or changed to Squeamish Diners. It's always a delight to dine at this restaurant! The food is absolutely delicious. Whether dining solo or with a group, I always enjoy ordering a variety of dishes to share, such as pupusas, empanadas, or flautas. I recently brought my coworkers and supervisor here and they also thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Additionally, the restaurant received an A rating in their last health inspection. I highly recommend trying their homemade hot sauces, they are exceptional.
Delicious tasty is quite the only way to describe this place. Is it small? Was it hot like the eggs in this restaurant today (in the middle of the heat wave)? Is there any villains? Probably, though I didn't see one. This is one of those holes in the wall where they mainly speak Spanish, but the food speaks for itself. Really so authentic and so good. The portions are huge, so come with a healthy appetite. The server gave great service and the food was amazing.
What satisfaction is to know that there is a place in Hartford where you can go to savor exquisite food. Truly I satisfied by the service, the presentation of the dish and of course the perfect flavor / season of the meal. Mofongo with chicken, salad, rice and a natural pineapple glass. Delicious! My son and I had lunch here yesterday and I must say I cannot wait to go back. We had chicken tacos that were delicious as an appetizer and we both had a platter with steak, rice and beans, fried plantins, and a salad. When the food came out we cracked up because we couldn't for the life of us figure out how we'd eat it all, but we did. We also had their fresh mango juice so good I wanted another one. Great little spot.
