La terrasse était belle, le temps estival et le début de soirée prometteur.... 1 heure et demi après la commande, arrive l'entrée... l'un des serveurs s'excuse, évoquant un temps d'attente mal estimé... pour une terrasse au maximum de sa capacité ...j'entends ses excuses cependant il n'y peut rien... mais il est plutôt victime de la course aux chiffres, peu importe la qualité du service ; mise au second plan hélas trop souvent. Le prix de la note lui ne change pas malgré la méprise... Bien que la cuisine fut bonne, je resterai avec ce mauvais souvenir et c'est un gâchis...le restaurant s'en remettra mais c'est simplement l'occasion de rappeler que si l'on ne peut assumer un service, il ne fa...
Le restaurant se situe dans une zone résidentielle, avec principalement des maisons. Le parking est très grand et face au restaurant. L'accueil est "Suisse" (i.e. simplicité, gentillesse et efficacité). Le chef fait le tour des tables, habitude malheureusement souvent perdue en France, après le coup de feu.Nous avons réservé une table en terrasse. Attention: il y a de nombreux parasols mais ce n'est pas efficace en cas de forte pluie.Néanmoins, je pense que l'intérieur est suffisamment grand pour accueillir les clients qui sont en terrasse.Pour info, le restaurant gastronomique réouvre à compter de septembre. Il faut donc choisir l'option bistro.Les plats sont exquis : ingrédients de qualité...
Smiling welcome and comfortable terrace in this refurbished restaurant in a very close suburb of the city. The chef is surfing on the trendy bistronomic fashion, offering nicely presented dishes, mostly classics with a pinch and a few more original ones. Overall everything is quite convincing, if not exceptional. There is a nice choice of wine by the glass. Service is very friendly although not always fully efficient. A musician was here that evening, and was playing and singing - a bit too loud - for the whole evening, depending on your taste you'll like it or not, but maybe this was not necessary (at least for that long) on a quiet evening. After many years of different ownership, it was a pleasure to return to La Chaumière now under the stewardship of Serge Labrosse, who was previously in charge of the excellent Buffet de la Gare Eaux-Ives. The menu was full of imaginative dishes giving the diner plenty of choice. The wine list, while expensive, was full of interesting names. I started with the Ravioles de crabe, which was excellent and beautifully presented. I followed this with the Supreme de Volaille, which again was well presented and full of flavour. Good to have Serge back on the busy/overcrowded Geneva culinary scene. I can envisage returning soon. Réservez une table maintenant
La Chaumiere has an excellent location near the Saleve, with a large terrace. We ate in the wonderful indoor kitchen, which was thoughtfully arranged so that the tables are well separated. We enjoyed the six-course tasting menu, the two seafood-oriented dishes, beef, mushrooms (it is the season), cheese and dessert, next to a wine pairing. It was all very well presented and the wine pairing was appreciated because of its focus on Swiss wine. If I have criticism, it would be that the parts were too much! We hope for a return!
Charmante terrasse extérieure ombragée pour profiter d'un excellent déjeuner du midi avec un menu du jour accessible et d'une excellente qualité. Les quantités sont aussi suffisantes. De nombreuses petites attentions tout au long du service comme par exemple des petites gourmandises pour accompagner le café. Nous avons passé un excellent moment. Juste aux portes de Genève, pouvoir ainsi profiter d'un tel cadre champêtre au calme, c'est tip top.
Une très bonne adresse. Facilité pour se parquer, superbe terrasse ombragée et service aux petits soins. Pour ce qui est du repas, du pur bonheur... présentation, quantité et goût au top. Les gnocchis aux épinards étaient fantastique et la côte de veau d'une tendresse remarquable. Il manquait peut-être juste un peu de sauce pour la viande, mais ça c'est pour pinailler. Un super moment
C'est une BIEN BELLE et DELICIEUSE MAISON que tient le Chef Serge LABROSSE.A quelques minutes du centre de GENEVE, un havre de paix et un pur bonheur pour nos papilles gustatives à l'heure du Déjeuner. I heart a lot of good feedback since new chef took the place one year ago. I tried the place and the only regret was to not come before. The place is really, really good. The food is amazingly tasty. The menu is a good mix between standard and very new original food. You have to go.
