Located a little village a couple of miles outside the hustle and bustle of La Tranche, this is a welcome change from the more touristy seaside eateries. It's a bit of a step back in time and all the better for it; the decor is traditional seaside, the food is traditional no-nonsense French with the emphasis on seafood (but good steaks are available) and the service is excellent & freindly. We were on a short break to the area and having visited the restaurant once, we were soon back for more! There are very good value set menus for around 20 euros or less, one offers a help-yourself buffet (mainly seafood) as a starter, another offers fabulous moules most generously served! Fish main course...

We visited this restaurant for a meal with 3 other couples. We all chose from the table de hôte menu.We had a variety of starters, moules, mixed cold plate, goats cheese included.Main courses selected were mainly the entrecôte steak. These were large portions, my steak could have fed a family for Sunday dinner! The steaks were cooked a little on the rare side for my taste, so I suggest asking for your steak more well done than you would in England. The staff were helpful, and attempted some English to supplement the French that our party new.Over all we had a lovely evening with some nice wine, and whilst this isn't a cheap night out it was reasonable price for the meal we enjoyed.

6 family members had a great night in this little gem - part of the joy being that almost nothing has changed in the 20 years since we last ate there .The set meals offer limited choice but plenty to satisfy us - indeed the buffet can almost give you a diy fruit de mer - and the moules maison is huge and very tasty - the desert choice is very good for set menus. Every table on a weds night was full - so make sure you book if it is july or august - and the bill - 25 euro per head incuding house wine !

We were staying nearby and so only had take way Moules and Frites. Three portions for the three of us. Larges portions, great Moules and very good value for money. Restaurant looked good, but well have to save that for our next visit.
