TripAdvisor sei Dank fanden wir in der Nähe unserer Jugendherberge dieses kleine Restaurant - weit laufen wollten wir nämlich wirklich nicht mehr ;-/ Das Lokal liegt an einem kleinen Platz in der Nähe eines alten Stadttores mit mehreren umliegenden Restaurants. I regularly visit La Dolce Vita and I have never, ever been disappointed. The restaurant is located at 10 minutes walking distance from the cathedral on the iconic pedestrian square next to the ancient Eigelstein town gate with its scenic atmosphere. Gas burners and blankets...allow sitting outside even, when the weather is a little chilly. The chefs work at a constantly high level, service is awesome, prices are moderate. I strongly recommend ordering main dishes from the frequently changing seasonal menu (hand-written on a black board or on a separate sheet in the menu). Order starters (try vitello tonnato) or pizza from the regular menu. 5/5 in every respect.

We were staying near by and check trip Advisor look like it was ok and it was !!husband like his pasta we had mozzarella first large portion so we shared it was good nice Portion of wine had fish good service was good they have...outdoor seating but it was chilly they have blankets for those that choice to seat out side ! It was a good neighborhood restaurant not something I would travel far too have dinner!!!

La Dolce Vita is a nice Italian restaurant in a busy area in Cologne. Around you a lot of things happen and you have always something to talk about. The food is basic and good. The service is incredible bad, unfortunately. Not interested in the...customer, don't understand the customer etc. With a better service, they could do more in that area with a lot of competitors.
Sat here on a hot summer Sunday evening. Was very busy and service was slow, but food was delicious and worth the wait. Waiters were friendly and spoke in Italian. Local musicians were playing across the street which added to the nice atmosphere. Nearby local...tram stop, worth also walking around the area, Eigelstein gate and the new fountain at Ebertplatz.
Visited on a Sunday evening. The owner went through the menu with us explaining, as well as he could, the items in English. Our first courses were really tasty and well presented, especially the Rote Bete Carpacchio thin slices of dressed beetroot with spinach...and cheese and the aubergine rolls, served in a creamy tomato sauce.
