La galiote - Réserver une table

If you want good food but luasy service and where you are all considered to be a tourist who dines once and won't come back, this is the place to go on Port Cogolin. We were a party of 9 (with 4 children), the restaurant was literally empty and the waiter/owner/not sure ushered us into the back.. we asked to sit up front which obviously didn't appeal to him and reluctantly (given as no one else was there) he set up a table for us. There was no proposal for an aperitif and we ordered the food (Note that is you have children, there is no kids menu so they will need to be hungry as they get the full dish). The food was excellent, we had a ordered the mussels, as well as a few pasta dishes and they were very good (we even managed to order a drink :) once the food arrived). We were soon joined by other diners who received a frosty a reception as us.. they were a couple, the restaurant virtually empty, they were first asked if they had reserved (the restaurant was virtually empty), then ushered to a table towards the back.Positives : The food was excellent and the prices reasonable for the locationNegatives: the service is terrible, there is no kids menu (or even offer to accommodate for childrens portions)

I used to go here quite a lot and it always was very pleasant with a good atmosphere created by all the family members who worked here.I may have hit a poor night but the lady who owns it was rushing about with just one fairly unorganised girl supposedly assisting.The food was very good but there were no menus, just blackboards with fixed price menus on and a very few a la carte dishes (ie two starters) so if you wanted a starter from a fixed menu there was no clue as to how much that may be!Just a bit of a mess really and as there is so much choice in the area no need to experience it again.

really copious and delicious. fresh cooking and a great selection. theres a 18€ and a 24€ fixed menu. we had a variety of food and everything was really good. the service is a bit slow but very courteous.

This place is well worth a visit. Great value. Food is lovely. Service confident and friendly but low key. Clean plates all round and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend
