Our first time here, booked La Grotta on Main for the Christmas eve dinner, wanted to have nice Italian dining experience, but it was the complete opposite!!! Kind of ruined our Christmas eve mood too.Service was SUPER slow. Only the red wine came fast, the rest waited for 43 mins for the first Caesar salad to arrive. And no utensils after the salad arrived. The server didn't set the table for us. The rest of the food came after, so it was nearly 50 -55 mins wait. We almost finished the bottle of red wine, with empty stomach. It was not that busy, only a couple of other tables around.The Seafood platter was on par, the spaghetti was below par, very home-made Mama style, and tasted like $1 fr...
I ate here before the pandemic, it was good. I came back last night, 9 april. I ordered a marguerita. in the menu it was marked with fresh basilikum from the garden. my pizza was fat, with dehydrated basilikum! I was told they were preparing the basilikum so! also the taste was really not good. the waiters are nice, but they are not profis, far from it. So, don't waste their time and money (a pizza costs $25). the pizza of my wife (white feta) was also not good.

I had yet another fantastic meal and dining experience at this restaurant. This was my sixth time visiting, and I am always impressed by the high quality and authenticity of the Italian dishes they serve. Sebastian is incredibly welcoming and has a remarkable memory for remembering the little details about what we like. My wife and I had a lovely evening at La Grotta on Main and can't wait to go back again.

I went to La Grotta with some girlfriends, and I must comment on how accommodating they were! The experience was truly authentic: everything from the unexpected fire pit to the intimate separated patio and gourmet Italian cuisine (which I, as a fellow Italian, recognize and appreciate). The weather was frigid, but the fire pit provided ample warmth. Definitely coming back! ?
Always love coming back to enjoy delicious food, great service and a quaint ambiance both indoor dining when it’s possible or currently out in their heated tent patio.Our host, Sebastian always makes us feel welcome and special and just adds more to our dining experience.I will definitely keep coming back and sharing with my friends and family.
Amazing and authentic Italian in Unionville. The dining room is beautiful and has a casual yet cozy and romantic ambiance like being in an Italian grotto with fireplace, wine cellar and heated outdoor patio with full dining room chairs and tables and multiple heaters.
The owner was very friendly and considerate. Both dishes were recommended by him and they were absolutely delicious. We sat on the heated patio on the coldest night with the degree of -30. It wasn’t warm enough, definitely still chilly, but the food was so worth it.
