After 2 hours of kayaking and swimming down the glorious Dordogne river my husband, 3 children and I stopped here for a drink and a snack. As we didn’t have enough cash to pay for this we asked if we could pay on a card...and were told that the restaurant was closed it was about 4pm but that we could order food from the kiosk and pay by card at the restaurant afterwards. This seemed great, so we ordered 5 Croque Monsieur, to be told by the young girl working in the kiosk that they didn’t have any left, only paninis with ham, so I quite happily ordered 5 paninis instead. She then had to leave the kiosk, walk up to the restaurant, and 5 minutes later came back with a box full of frozen wrapped...
Full Disclosure: we live in Monpazier 20 minutes from the restaurant and visit La Guinguette du pont de Vicq regularly. As a result, I can attest to the number of great meals we have enjoyed there on the banks of the Dordogne River. The setting...on the Dordogne River is beautiful and Mr and Mrs Zamperni are terriffic hosts and very patient with our French. The meals are freshly prepared and very tasty. We learned on our visit today that there is a spacious and well equiped wifi TV barbeque etc apartment suite, two bed rooms, living room and a private garden available for rent. It is adjacent to the restaurant and thus with the same great setting on the banks of the Dordogne River. A perfect...
In previous reviews, I have heralded the restaurant as a delightful place on the banks of the Dordogne River, It remains so. The food is freshly prepared a la Maison and is very tasty. I love the frites! best in the region. My wife enjoys...the Salad Bergere and I l'hamburger de la Maison. Frites partout. M. et Mme. Zamperini are very congenial hosts and remain patient with our halting French. The beach in front of the Restaraunt is partially shaded. Beverages ice creme etc are available from the restaurant and lunch/dinner when ready to move from the beach A perfect day along the Dordogne.

I love the frits! best in the region. my wife enjoys. the salad bergere and I l’hamburger de la maison. frites partout. m. et mme. zamperini are very congenial hostess and remain patient with our sustaining franzosen. the beach in front of the restaraunt is partially shaded. drinks ice cream etc. are from the restaurant and lunch dinner when ready to move from the beach a perfect day along the dordogne.

Le restaurant annonce qu'il est ouvert jusqu'à 22 heures tous les jours. Situé au bord de la rivière Dordogne à côté du pont de vicq, tout près du camping du pont de vicq que j'utilisais. J'ai pris une collation à l'heure du déjeuner, un hamburger et des frites, une bonne collation...et pas trop chère, le personnel était sympathique et attentionné, pas trop difficile car j'étais le seul client ! Je suppose que si le temps avait été meilleur, il y aurait eu beaucoup de monde, il y aurait également eu un excellent repas du soir, un steak qui était bon et du vin acceptable.
We have been here twice on this trip as we are staying at pont de Vicq camping next door. We have returned because the reception we had from the lovely owners was so friendly on the first visit, and the meals were wonderful so decided...to come back. We were greeted like old friends on the second visit and chatted to the proprietors after our meals. Beautiful home prepared food and properly presented. I would highly recommend La Guingette.
We stopped for lunch while canoeing downriver , and spent min waiting for someone to take our order and another waiting for the started of the menu de jour. The couple that served us was totally inadequate, with the old guy in particular...quite unfriendly. we wish we had packed picnic with us instead. Such a waste of the nice location.
ce restaurant est à côté du camping et de la rivière, un cadre sympa pour déjeuner. le service était bon, la nourriture était vraiment bonne, même si aucun choix pour un végétarien, pas même du poisson, donc la femme a dû se contenter d'une omelette nature et de frites, mon canard, par contre, était super. boissons à un prix moyen.

I have eaten in restaurants all over the world and this is by far the most bad mannered and rude experience I have ever had to endure. I would strongly recommend never setting foot in this terrible restaurant. If trip adviser had a minus rating...I would have used this.
