I already reviewed the hotel, and the same hotel staff also run the small restaurant. It is beautiful. I would highly recommend the Foie Gras du canard. The main of fillet beef with crushed buttery potato with mushrooms in layers is one of the best steaks I have had for years, better than anything recently eaten in Cape Town or Johannesburg, and as good as top steaks I have eaten in Smith & Wollensky in Manhattan NYC or The BIG FOUR restaurant in San Francisco - yes it was really that good. Finish off with the cheeseboard and have Benedicte talk you through the choices as she is fluent English.
Visited for dinner and chose the menu of the day at E40 for five courses.We were offered a generous amuse bouche which amounted to a extra starter course, followed by celery veloute which was delicious. A salad followed and then turbot with polenta and an orange sauce- beautiful. A good cheese board followed, rounded off with a refreshing dessert. A good bottle of wine, not cheap, but not too ruinous completed a superb meal. Complemented by friendly and attentive staff who allowed just the right time between courses.We will certainly be back when we visit our friends nearby next year.
Nous avons passé une excellente soirée à La Métairie. Nous avons choisi le menu du soir avec une soupe de céleri frais qui pouvait être servie chaude ou froide, du tartare de saumon, du canard rôti aux pêches et une crème brûlée. Chaque plat était parfaitement cuisiné et délicieux. Le service était absolument fantastique et notre charmant serveur parlait également un anglais parfait, ce qui a été d'une grande aide étant donné mes tentatives très basiques de français. Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre soirée à La Métairie et nous y retournerons à notre prochaine visite.
Nous ne sommes restés qu'une nuit, mais j'aurais aimé rester plus longtemps. L'hôtel est magnifiquement situé et est impeccable à tous égards. Nous avons été accueillis très chaleureusement et conduits à notre belle chambre. La piscine est superbe et juste ce dont nous avions besoin après un long trajet. Le dîner est servi sur la terrasse arrière et les 4 plats étaient magnifiquement préparés et présentés. De plus, la carte des vins est excellente. Nous reviendrons certainement ! Merci beaucoup. What a beautiful and well-kept place. We had reservations for lunch and despite a power failure after a Thunderstorm, the Chef accommodated us with cold cuts, foie gras, cheeses, and fruits. The very cozy dining room and the friendly staff made us feel very comfortable and welcome. We certainly return on a warm day to sit on their enchanting terrasse. Very pleasant experience.
Nous étions les seuls à déjeuner un mardi dans ce charmant hôtel et pourtant vous ne l'auriez pas remarqué. Le service était sympathique et excellent. La nourriture du menu brasserie était parfaite. Diverses combinaisons de melon et de jambon en entrée suivies de canard ou de steak. Un repas vraiment agréable.
Je n'ai généralement pas l'habitude de donner des critiques élogieuses, mais cet endroit était superbe. Calme, personnel formidable, cuisine excellente, beaux jardins et chambres charmantes. De plus, il dispose d'une immense piscine. Si vous allez dans la région, je le recommande vivement.
Very good meal and service in a very tranquil setting. Food was very well presented and excellent value. Cheeseboard was very good for the region. The staff are charming and knowledgeable and the wine list has a good selection of local wines of all quality and price. A memorable evening! Réservez une table maintenant
