I visited La Mexicanita this past weekend and was very disappointed with both the service and the food. As a Mexican, I know how authentic Mexican cuisine should taste, but when I ordered Huevos Rancheros, I was served a pile of rice and beans with two fried eggs on top—no sauce—and a couple of thick, handmade tortillas that were only half-cooked. I would be embarrassed to call this Mexican food. On top of that, the price on the menu didn’t match the bill I received. To make matters worse, when I handed over my credit card, the server took it outside the restaurant around the corner, which completely freaked me out. The service at La Mexicanita was terrible. The guy who seated us told the server to take our table, but as she passed by, she said in Spanish that she didn't want that table and asked for something smaller. Do they only speak English here? The place was nearly empty, with only two other tables occupied. When we finally received our menus, I gladly spoke to her in Spanish, which seemed to surprise her. We ordered our drinks—three beers, one margarita, and a Snapple—but it took about 10 minutes to arrive for some reason. Waitress was a bit of an airhead, definitely a bar for regulars, poor service if that's not what you're already anticipating. I got chicken flautas and they were tasteless. Also ordered a rum and coke and got a Mexican coke in a bottle, took two waitresses visiting our table twice each to realize I wanted a RUM and coke. Then I was served a rum and coke 10 min later in a separate glass, then charged for both. However, I will accept that there could have been a language barrier, or too loud music, who knows. Would not go back, even for delivery. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50
I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. I ordered soup but was only served water. When I brought this to their attention, they insisted that’s how it’s served. I’ve had the soup before, and it was completely different. They also refused to refund my money. I won’t be coming back.

I had the tacos dorado, and they were quite good. The lighting was a bit too dark for my taste. It's a spot I'd visit with friends for some food and drinks, but I wouldn't recommend it for a date.
This restaurant really knows how to provide excellent customer service. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The food is budget-friendly, consistently tasty, and skillfully crafted.
The food is truly authentic and delicious, but it took over half an hour to be served.
