La Patrona - Réservation de table

We had heard that this was a good place to eat, but just never got there. So Granny's birthday was on us and our daughter from Houston, TX said she wanted to take us out for lunch. I told her we should try La Patrona. This place is a jewell. We didn't have a reservation (highly recommended), but they got us seated fairly quickly. We ordered Margarittas and they came in a large old fashiioned glass which I thought was a bit odd, however there was lots and they were delicious. We ordered the shrimp tacos and they were scumptulicous. The presentaton was supperb. Since birthday cards were presented the waitress noticed and took it upon herself to bring a delicious desert with candle and churros....

The tacos, suadero (brisket) and veggie, were very good when they finally arrived. We waited over 50 minutes and that is just too long at lunch. The restaurant was not full, so that shouldn’t have effected the delivery time. The server was called over after a half hour wait and when asked when the food might arrive, she assured us that it would be up very soon. This is a too long wait at any time, but on a lunch break on a work day, it is a real problem. Still it was very good food.

I ordered the Cubana $22) for pick up along with four Churros $9) and a Jarrito $4.50). I chowed down on the Cubana in my car, and it was amazing! The Churros were fantastic, they were fried and rolled in cinnamon sugar. Although I had a rather large lunch, I paid for it in the afternoon. I will return to La Patrona the next time I am in Sherwood Park, but most likely for a large dinner so I don’t have to worry about getting through the afternoon at work on a full belly.

We drove in from Edmonton for Thursday lunch. Arriving at 1140 am, we asked for table of 2. The host said it would be 2 mins for him to set a table...the place was 1/4 occupied? Then after a 5 min wait, I glanced in to see the host filling water, chatting at a couple of tables. I felt ignored, so we left! Probably would've had another unnecessary wait for our food/beverage!! All the workers were so friendly and kind, especially to my gluten free mom who they helped explain the menu to. I hade the pollo Adobado which was very good, It was crispy, but not dried out, they put the perfect amount of food on the taco and it was so flavourful. The workers are so kind and fun. Such a great restaurant, can't wait to visit again!

As a former restaurant owner, I can honestly say that the quality for price at this place is one of the best in the Greater Edmonton area. The plates are close to authentic, with a few creative touches. Healthy portions, home made love. Highly recommended.

Our favourite restaurant in Sherwood Park by far! The food is SO fresh and flavourful, the drinks always delicious, and the service is beyond compare. They just need to bring back their stellar enchiladas and chiles relleno!!

I love how authentic the food is. This is real Mexican food cooked with love. Very fresh and tasty. The tortilla soup is our favourite. I also love the sugar skull vibe Réservez une table maintenant

Consistently tasty Latin cuisine, great energy, excellent service every time we go. Recommend reservations unless you're content to wait or eat at the bar.
