I used to really enjoy dining there many years ago, well before the COVID pandemic. However, over time, the quality and authenticity of the dishes have noticeably declined. For example, my once-favorite dish, General Tao Chicken, used to be perfectly crispy and bathed in a delightful sauce, but now it arrives soggy. The Hunan Dumplings in peanut butter sauce have also become heavy and doughy, leaving me uncomfortable after eating them. Additionally, the almond cookies contain very little almond. La Perle served us dry chicken strips, overcooked vegetables, and tough pork ribs, all for about $130 for a takeout meal. When we called to express our dissatisfaction at 8 PM, they told us that takeout doesn’t match the quality of dining in and that we would need to return 80% of the food to receive any compensation. As a result, we had no option but to serve this disappointing meal to our guests and ourselves since we hadn’t prepared anything else for the evening. Their attitude and excuses were completely unacceptable. I made a promise to never return. I used to enjoy many meals there with family, friends, and colleagues, but it seems all good things must come to an end.
I now understand where my Harley's transmission oil goes! If you're looking to raise your cholesterol, this is the place to be. Every dish tastes the same, as they're all fried and drenched in oil and grease. There's not a single steamed or lightly seasoned option on the menu. If you're in search of truly well-prepared takeout, I recommend Man Li restaurant—I discovered it during the COVID pandemic, and it has become a real gem. While the service is acceptable, the prices here are steep for the mediocre food served.

This is one of the few truly exceptional Szechuan restaurants in the Montreal area, having been around for over 20 years. It continues to be the go-to spot for high-quality Chinese cuisine. You must try the dumplings in peanut butter sauce, and definitely don’t overlook the pepper chicken served with crispy spinach. Both dishes are unique and outstanding! Simply the best!
We go to this restaurant for special occasions, but there's one waiter who makes the experience less enjoyable. He tends to avoid eye contact, which creates a rather uncomfortable atmosphere. Despite his long tenure there, his demeanor is off-putting. If it weren't for the delicious food, I would likely choose not to come back.
This restaurant has remained unchanged for years—decades, in fact—and that's truly delightful! The dumplings, the beef, and the family-style service all add to its charm. Although it's not upscale or fancy, the food is incredibly tasty! It's especially ideal for larger groups.
This restaurant offers top-notch Asian cuisine; every dish is packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. I highly recommend it! We usually get takeout once a week, but now we are thrilled to be dining in again. The staff is very friendly as well.
