Needed a quick lunch when we arrived to visit Chateau de Chillon so went across the road when we saw the signboard for 2 restaurants at the main entrance to the chateau. Decided to go to La Petite Falaise as it seemed more inviting from the outside. The nice waitress there tried her best to explain the menu to us (which was in French) including the set menus. As we actually only wanted a quick bite, we decided to share the set lunch as it sounded interesting. When the stater salad arrived in 2 bowls, we thought she had misunderstood that we wanted to share. When the main dish arrived in 2 plates we guessed that she had ordered 2 separate sets for us. But we really didn't mind as we were feeling more hungry than we thought. So imagine our utter surprise when we were later charged for 1 set only! She had thoughtfully asked the kitchen to separate the portions into 2 plates so that it was easy for us to share! Never in all our travels or even back home had any restaurant done this for us. We were really bowled over with the thoughtfulness and service! Come to think of it, the portions were just right for us so if it had been 2 sets, we would not have been able to finish the food. What excellent value for CHF18! Food was good and absolutely no complaints for a set lunch. Highly recommend this place if you happen to need lunch when visiting Chateau de Chillon!
Nous avions réservé pour 8 personnes un dimanche à midi... Petite salle à manger qui aurait besoin d'un petit coup de frais... Tout comme la déco et les sanitaires... Accueil sympathique, avec le sourire et le service était correct. La moitié de la carte est écrite à ma main, des menus, des plats, c'est pas très clair tout ça... Nous avons pris les filets de perches qui étaient excellents, avec en entrée salade de dent de lion excellente aussi !!! Le tout était très bon et nous avons suffisamment mangé. Il manque ici une petite touche de raffinement malgré tout... À 2 pas de château de Chillon, parfait pour la ballade digestive au bord du lac !
... sans doute méritée en ce qui concerne la cuisine. Salades verte ou mêlée abondantes et goûteuses, suivies de filets de perche du Léman accompagnés qui de frites, qui de pommes vapeur, fraîches et chaudes à souhait. Sauce tartare excellente.Le tout proche du Château de Chillon où nous nous rendrons tout à l'heure. Seul bémol, un service un peu lent, ce qui peut se comprendre avec une seule personne, charmante, pour 30 couverts.
We stopped here for dinner after our visit to Chateau Chillon (just across the road). It was late and we did not want to look elsewhere for a place to eat. We did not regret it! The service was marvellous - we had schnitzel, omelette and one of the fish dishes (forget the name). All scrumptious and generously portioned. Not cheap but that seems to go for all dining out in Switzerland.
