We had a double dinner date here on Friday evening and it was an excellent experience, all in all. We arrived on time and our table was ready. It was a full house, so we were happy that we didn't have any waiting time. Our server, Tehya, promptly greeted us and she was timely and pleasant throughout the evening. She also gave solid recommendations and we never had to wait long for anything. For an hors d'oeuvre, I shared the Escargots persillée with my buddy. Jacqueline was our waitress for the evening, and she was attentive, checking in on us frequently as we waited for our food. The kitchen seemed to be running behind, as we noticed other tables were also still waiting on their entrees. Fortunately, we had ordered appetizers, and there was no pressure to finish them quickly, which was good because it took a while for the main courses to arrive. I have been a patron of La P'Tite Framboise for years now. My love affair with their cuisine was confirmed after my first taste of their nutella stuffed French toast. Situated in a cozy spot in the heart of Port Washington, this is my favorite place to dine for French food on Long Island. I go there for brunch, to scratch my itch for French food, or for their Mussels Monday. Most recently, I was there to enjoy their Mussels Monday special. For $39, you get a glass of wine or beer and a huge pot of mussels, prepared one of at least 8 ways, with fries. I selected the gorgonzola version and was blown away. Cute little restaurant in town. The bar has about 10 seats with high stools that make eating and sitting at the bar extremely comfortable. The bloody Mary's are horseradish forward which I love. But it has a kick so be prepared. The mimosas are strong and delicious. Food was served fast and hot. They start you with some pieces of warm baguette along with a perfectly salted butter. You get a small croissant as well. The onion soup was exactly what you would expect. Piping hot and delicious. The mussels were amazing. We finished off with a creamy custard crème brûlée. I came here for my birthday, my husband know how I love French cuisine. We came on Mussel Monday. Not the best day for a shellfish allergy person lol. They were very nice to move my seat to one further away from everyone. The manger stopped by, I let him know I was celebrating my birthday and enjoying the food. Everything was delicious, I was sad I couldn't get the stuffed pumpkin dish I was looking to try but I enjoyed. There was another birthday there, they sang happy birthday to them, nothing for me. Nevertheless I still enjoyed my dinner and my crème brûlée. Cozy little spot.
I live in the city, but had the pleasure of dining here last month while on a shoot nearby. The ambience, the food, the service exceeded my expectations. Whenever I can, I frequent Pastis in the city. I hope this is not an insult as I've loved Pastis for years but I would call the Pastis of Long Island. Just lovely and everything was perfect. I find myself out this way in Long Island again and I'm already revisiting the menu and scheming when I can break away from work and slip in to this lovely little French bistro In an unassuming Locale.
The ambiance was fantastic, offering a cozy and warm atmosphere, with soft French bistro music playing in the background and comfortable seating. We appreciated the unique folded menu as well! However, the service could use some improvement. Our waiter had a heavy accent, which made it difficult to understand him. We dined on a Tuesday evening at 5:00, and given that there was only one other table occupied, we expected more attentive service. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience!
Went for brunch on Mother's Day. The ambiance of the restaurant is very Parisian, once you step inside you forget you are on a bustling road which is amazing! The service was good, our water glasses were often full and our waitress was attentive. The food was good, I am not the biggest breakfast lover but my omelet hit the spot. Surprised by how good this charming local restaurant was ! Owner was warm and welcoming as well as the staff ! We had a late Sunday Brunch/ Dinner meal. Duck Benedict was fantastic crispy duck skin and perfectly cooked egg topped with a lovely sauce. Standards of onion soup and mussels done very well. French Toast was sick !! It the best way !! We be dreaming about another one !!
