I 've heard so many good things about Thyme and we were really excited about coming. The exterior has a whimsical feel to it...like you 're going into a big fancy cottage for some out of this world meal. Parking lot is big and with a nice view too! We were in awe for about 3 minutes...until we walked in to the hostess and asked for a table for 4. She asked the typical do you have a reservation? and we said we were just walk-ins. And I swear the hostess rolled her eyes and exhaled a sigh (later confirmed by my party that they all saw it too). The restaurant was only maybe 1/4 full so I don 't see why she scoffed the way she did. To Ms. Hostess, you are the front of the house...there 's no rea...
We wish we could give this restaurant half a star rating, as it is a really great place to eat! The service is accommodating and efficient. The $28 brunch offers a variety of hearty and healthy options. We tried the BBQ Brisket and scrambled eggs with a Blood Orange Margarita made with Don Julio Blanco. We also enjoyed the Crabcake Burger, which was a delicious pound of shellfish, paired with a Peach Goya Bellini for $7 with J. Roget Champagne. The Sirloin burger was topped with two strips of slab-style bacon and Cheddar, served with crusted French fries for added savoriness. I recently went to Thyme for brunch and the food was excellent . The inside has a cozy cottage feel to it and the staff were very nice minus one exception...... The hostess . As you can read in previous reviews she is definitely a problem . She is rude, condescending and should not be working in any restaurant in any capacity . She was strutting around like she owned the place and was completely disrespectful to us the second we arrived . It takes a lot for me to write something negative on yelp and I am still giving the restaurant 4 stars because the rest of the staff (bartenders , cooks , bussers etc do not deserve a negative review .
Joined a colleague for dinner here midweek. Had Martini Salmon bowl Shared strawberry shortcake I was so surprised how much I enjoyed the meal! Lots of options on the menu. Warm atmosphere, charming building and friendly competent staff. Came home to tell my husband that we need to go together! I hear they are known for their short ribs dishes, but I wanted salmon and I was soooo pleased with my dinner. Enjoy! Réservez une table maintenant
Great spot in Roslyn, LI. Overlooks a pond which is very scenic. Service and staff was great. The drinks and food here were delicious. I would go with any of the cocktails but my **** mary was on point. Food was the standout. Burger was juicy and flavorful. The cob salad was fresh and satisfying. And the crab cakes were a great appetizer. Would definitely come back again. Great in a group or for date night.
