On September 2, 2023, I had the unfortunate experience of visiting La Piñata Bakery, located at 4708 Touhy Avenue in Lincolnwood, and I must say it was the worst bakery I've encountered in the Chicagoland area. From the moment I entered, it was clear that there was a significant lack of customer service and basic respect for patrons.
The manager's behavior was nothing short of appalling. He was not only rude but also seemed to have completely forgotten that it is the customers who keep his business running. His condescending tone and dismissive attitude made me feel unwelcome, leaving a bad impression right away.

Stopped in to try their famous empanadas but I kept getting distracted by other baked goods on the way to the counter. Tried number of different empanadas and they were good, but not great. Will definitely stop by again to try other items though.Because it is located next to one of the most well known bagel place in the area, it is easy to overlook this place. But if you are there with another person to wait in line for New York bagels, it is totally worth stopping in this place.
I absolutely love this bakery! I find myself stopping by a few times each week just to satisfy my craving for their conchas. They’re incredibly soft and pillowy. They also whip up an excellent matcha latte that really packs a punch with its matcha flavor. Everything I’ve tasted, from the empanadas to the butter cookies, has been delicious. Nothing is ever dry; it’s all fresh and tender! Plus, the young lady who helps me at the counter is always extremely friendly.
So yummy! I read a review about the filled churros. Bought one. Took it home. Warmed it up in the microwave. OMG so delicious! Also the soft roll with cream is so good. Highly recommended. Note for the owners: I feel like your prices are low. It's ok to change more for the excellent quality you provide. Other bakeries are much more expensive and you should get your too.

I ordered a tres leches cake for an anniversary celebration, and it was absolutely amazing! The cake was the highlight of the party, and it traveled perfectly as well. The customer service at the bakery was outstanding too. I will definitely be returning!
I've been going into NY bagel for years but never stopped in here, until today. Did I under estimate this gem of a bakery? Yes, I totally did. Great choice of sweets, and really good drip coffee
Originally stopped to get a bagel next door then saw the ridiculous line and decided to give this place a try this is my second week going back very delicious will come back again
soO good! came from next door at bagel and bialy for the horchata cold brew! SO good. i also got churros and a few empanadas too. everything was delicious!

Love this place! Great coffee drinks, love their empanadas and croissants, and really nice selection of baked goods and sweets. The staff is very nice.
Their empanadas were so good! Spinach and cheese and Veggie. The crust was so good! I wanna go back and try their pastries.
