We were staying in Perros Guirec and called in to La Plage for a drink and possibly lunch. We sat at an empty table and waited ages to be served. When we were eventually served we were told the table was reserved (no sign otherwise we wouldn’t have set there) and that we couldn’t order a drink. The waiter was very rude and abrupt, unlike the hospitality we have received from the other bars and restaurants. We were going to book in here on our last evening where we were going to have a nice relaxed three course meal and drinks, but that didn’t happen after the way we were treated. Shame on you La Plage.
Oysters were excellent, soup was excellent, and my fish, lieu in French pollock in English, was outstanding. Just barely rare, nicely seared, delicious. Vegetables were cleverly presented. The kitchen was doing a great job. Unfortunately, the front of the house was focused on ignoring the five tables still eating. After waiting half an hour for someone to take my plate and a dessert order, I walked up to the counter and explained that I was leaving because of lack of service. What a shame. Compliments to the kitchen.
Excellent diner! We reserved a table with our dogs which was no issue. We got a great table next to the window overviewing the beach. Tip: if you are early enough: ask for a table at the window! Nice choice of menus at reasonable prices €32 for 3 course diner) and excellent choices of wines also by the glass. Great oysters, scallops and skate. Mussels looked great as well! Cafe gourmand is the way to finish
We had seafood which was very nice and well presented, it was not overly expensive. Would recommend this establishment. The only minor problem that should have been resolved before service was part of the fruit de mer included bulot, unfortunately two of the three on the plate had become home to hermit crabs,a fact that the chef should have spotted! The matter was resolved satisfactorily.
