We visited this restaurant last week . The service and attitude of one particular waitress was downright rude . Our friend , who has a home in Trebes , spoke in French to this waitress , and the lack of response to questions asked , and , stomping off without acknowledging what was being asked , is beyond rude . We then discover this girl is the daughter of the owner. What a way to represent a family business! Other customers next to us witnessed this dreadful behaviour too , one French lady followed our friend into the retaurant , to complain to the owner , and said that she had seen and heard this . Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone . Not even having tried the food , the attitude to paying customers is appalling. There are other lovely restaurants on the canal side where you are treated properly .
We were a table of 9. When arriving we were excited as the presentation of the food is very nice. We noticed there was a table of 4 that left with a full table of food still there. At first we thought it was odd but later we found out that the majority of the plates ordered were very low quality. The tuna was dry and salty, the rice too salty and over cooked, the desserts below average. The duck was ok but most of us ordered seafood being a seafood restaurant. Not worth the stop.
After enjoying the waterside context for a couple of drinks on a hot day, we decided to stay for lunch. We opted for the set muni, which turned out to be very good. The mussel salad was very tasty; the squid and bass options were very well cooked and the desserts delicious. Service was efficient on a busy day and some of it was exceptionally courteous. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and considered it good value for money.
The staff were lovely and we were warmly greeted. Service was quick and friendly. Our food was absolutely delicious! We chose from the 18€ three-course menu: melon and Serrano and salmon tartare to start; whole sea bass and mackerel as main dishes; and we both had panna cotta for dessert. Such a lovely meal, reasonably-priced and enjoyed right beside the Canal du Midi! We will be back!
